Ginger is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Zingiberaceae family. It is native to tropical areas such as China and India. It is now mainly distributed in Asia and Africa. China, Japan, India, Malaysia and other countries have the largest cultivation area.

In my country, ginger is mostly cultivated as an annual crop. The cultivation history of our city is relatively short, only more than 40 years. In the 1960s, Caojiazhuang Village, Baishatan Town, first introduced and tried planting it, and then the area gradually expanded. Especially in the late 1980s, the ginger area in our city developed rapidly. Currently, the city's ginger planting area is more than 30,000 acres. In particular, the ginger area in Baishatan Town has reached 15,000 acres, accounting for 50% of the city's ginger planting area. Ginger production has become an important source of income for farmers in Baishatan Town, and has basically achieved industrialized management. In recent years, with the adjustment of the planting industry structure, the city's ginger industry has developed rapidly. Many towns have regarded ginger production as an important way to increase farmers' income, promoting the development of the ginger industry, especially It is Dagushan, Rushhanzhai and other towns that are developing rapidly and have become rising stars in the development of Dajiang in our city.

Rushan ginger is fat, golden in color, and contains little crude fiber. It is favored by consumers. The products are mainly sold to southern cities such as Guangdong and Shenzhen, and are also exported to the United States, Europe, etc. countries and regions. In 2001, Baishatan Ginger registered the trademark "Golden Coast" and passed the pollution-free production standards for agricultural products of the Shandong Provincial Department of Agriculture, laying a good foundation for Ginger to enter the international market. The development of the ginger industry has also led to the development of the ginger processing industry. In 2005, "Rushan Yinjin Food Co., Ltd." was established in Rushan, ending the history of no deep processing enterprises of ginger in our city. The company can process and export 65,000 pieces of ginger every year. Multi-ton products are mainly sold to the United States, Canada and other European and American countries and regions, stimulating the development of the local economy.

In 2001, the Rushan Ginger Association was established, marking that ginger production in our city has entered a new stage of development. At present, our city has three ginger wholesale markets, with an annual trading volume of more than 50,000 tons. Through the ginger wholesale markets, our city's ginger is sold to the international and domestic markets, and Rushan ginger is becoming more and more famous.
