2. Can the deposit in the franchise contract be refunded?

Whether the deposit in the franchise contract can be refunded depends on the specific provisions in the franchise contract, as follows:

2. If the franchise contract stipulates that non-franchised franchisees can return the deposit, then the deposit can be refunded.
