More than 10 kilometers northeast of Cixi City, you can see a mountain, shaped like a black eyebrow, lying in the lush Sanbei Plain Above, this is Shengshan, which was called Xuanni Mountain in ancient times.

Along the old street at the foot of Shengshan Mountain, crossing the ancient Shengshan Bridge, zigzagging westward, you will see Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall and Shengshan Zen Temple. Passing through the majestic Shanmen Pavilion, there are Tianwang Hall, Tianhou Palace and Main Hall in the temple, each embracing the terrain. The palace pavilions with yellow walls and carved patterns are majestic and magnificent, and the glazed tiles on the roof reflect the sunlight. Amidst the smoke and the sound of bells and bells, the posture of the golden Buddha becomes more solemn. Grandma Shengshan, like Mazu from the Tianhou Palace, has a phoenix crown and a beautiful hat, a majestic appearance and kind eyes. They seemed to be murmuring about the long past of our ancestors going out to sea to fish, sailing for business, building ponds around the sea, building stoves to cook salt, and fighting against violence and enemies. After leaving the Zen temple pavilion and heading east up the stairs, there is a pavilion standing on the rock wall with the inscription on the forehead: Victory Pavilion. The pavilion pillars are engraved: The mountains and rivers nearby are all sentimental, and the breeze and the bright moon are priceless. After pondering the couplets and going up through the pavilion, you will see the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall, a three-story building. Pictures and texts describing General Qi's great achievements are displayed in the museum.

Going up the Shengshan winding road, the mountains are covered with lush trees and flowers. There used to be temples on the mountain, and martial arts competitions were often held at temple fairs. The martial Shengshan people are not afraid of violence. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the Xuannishan area was the front line against Japanese invaders. Japanese pirates landed here several times and plundered the three northern coasts. The army and the people defend their homes and country and work together to repel the enemy. Later, the name of the mountain was changed to Shengshan to commemorate it. In the 20th year of Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty, after the Opium War broke out, the British invasion force Feng Yuan landed and plundered. People used weapons to surround and annihilate the British invaders, and wrote a chapter of victory. Now, the mountainside is mottled with sun shadows, the pines are singing softly, there are endless springs on the mountain in winter and summer, and the deep fairy cave at the southern foot of the mountain is a beautiful scenery.
