Liu Chengzhang is from Yan'an, Shaanxi. Member of the Communist Party of China. Born in 1937 in Yan'an City, his ancestral home. Graduated from the Chinese Department of Shaanxi Normal University in 1961. He has successively served as a teaching assistant in the Chinese Department of Shaanxi Normal University, screenwriter of the Yan'an Song and Dance Troupe, deputy director of the Literary and Art Department of Shaanxi People's Publishing House, deputy president of Shaanxi Provincial Publishing House, vice chairman of Shaanxi Provincial Publishing Association, deputy secretary and vice chairman of the Party Leadership Group of Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association, literature First-level creative author, editor-in-chief of "Literature Artist".
