HiTea, the founder of new tea drinks, is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. In 2012, HEYTEA originated in an alley called Jiangbianli in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province. It opened a new era of tea drinking with a cup of original cheese tea. HEYTEA's original name was ROYALTEA. Due to the inability to register a trademark, it was fully upgraded to the registered brand "HEYTEA" in 2015.

On April 3, 2020, the store of Heytea's first sub-brand "Xi Xiaocha" opened, with single products priced between 6 yuan and 15 yuan. The store is located in Huaqiang Plaza, Huaqiang North Road, Futian District, Shenzhen.

On July 14, 2020, Heytea’s 500th store worldwide was officially opened! Shanghai's first black gold store is located in New World Daimaru Department Store.

On July 13, 2021, Heytea has just completed a new round of financing of US$500 million.
