Perhaps Lu Xun thought that the child was an unexpected gain, and for the sake of the child's strength, he devoted extraordinary love to his new life. The name Haiying was taken by Lu Xun from the meaning of a baby born in Shanghai.
His education of Haiying was carried out in full accordance with the idea of How We Are Fathers Now, which he wrote in 1919. He tried to create opportunities for Haiying to grow up freely, hoping that Haiying would become a person who dared to speak, laugh, scold and fight.
