Aksu city is located at the northwest edge of Taklimakan desert and the upper reaches of Tarim River. Named after water, Uygur language means "white water city". It is the territory of ancient China, Qin, Han and 36 Western Regions, where ancient Mohism and Wensu lived. It is an important post station on the ancient Silk Road. [2] It is also the birthplace of Qiuci culture and multi-wave culture, and is known as the "South of the Great Wall". It is the political, economic and cultural center of Aksu region and agricultural corps. [3]

Aksu has a pleasant climate, flat terrain, fertile land, abundant water resources, abundant sunshine and long frost-free period, which is suitable for the growth of various crops. The city covers an area of 780,000 mu of cultivated land, 700,000 mu of forest and 4.03 million mu of grassland, which can be grazed all year round. It is an important commodity grain and commodity cotton base in China. Jujube, thin-skinned walnut, red Fuji apple, apricot, fragrant pear, grape, melon and other special products enjoy high reputation at home and abroad, and are the famous hometown of melons and fruits.

Aksu City is an important high-quality cotton production base in China, and has become an important cotton trading distribution center and textile industry gathering place in Xinjiang. [4][5]
