1. Trademark application

Trademark application can be in paper form or electronic application can be submitted through official website, Canadian Intellectual Property Office; An individual or enterprise that has no domicile or business office in Canada shall entrust an individual or enterprise that has domicile or business office in Canada as the addressee for service.

2. Trademark review

Before trademark review, the examiner will conduct trademark search to ensure the registrability of the trademark;

Before the trademark is finally made public, the Trademark Registration Office will conduct a second search on the trademark to ensure that there are no trademark applications and registered trademarks that conflict with the trademark applied for registration. If there are conflicts, the Trademark Registration Office will ask the applicant to make comments.

4. Trademark publicity

Trademarks that have passed the examination will be published in Trademark Journal every Wednesday.

5. Trademark Objection

Anyone can put forward reasonable reasons to object to the registration of a trademark document published in the Trademark Journal within 3 months from the date of publication.

6. Trademark registration

If the trademark is applied for registration based on the intended use, the applicant should submit a statement that the trademark has been used, and the trademark registration office will issue a trademark registration certificate.
