What procedures and materials are needed for marriage registration
p>The marriage registration process mainly consists of three links: application, review and registration.
(1) Application
Couples who meet the requirements for marriage registration can bring relevant certificates, certification materials and registration photos to the marriage registration office where one party has his/her registered permanent residence and submit an application. To apply for marriage registration, fill in the application registration statement according to the staff's instructions.
The documents required for marriage registration application depend on personal circumstances. If a Chinese citizen applies for marriage registration in China (except Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), he or she must hold his or her ID card, household register, premarital examination certificate, personal Documents such as proof of single status and a statement that there is no blood relationship with the other party (direct blood relationship and collateral blood relationship within three generations). If you have been divorced, you must also hold a divorce certificate.
Foreigners (including foreigners who are resident in my country and those who come to China temporarily, ethnic Chinese, and foreign nationals who have settled in my country) need to hold a valid passport and a "Foreigner Residence Certificate" issued by the public security authority to apply for marriage in mainland China. "Certificate", a certificate of marital status issued by the notary public of the country certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country (or an agency authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country.
(2) Review
The marriage registration authority will verify and review the parties applying for marriage registration to find out whether the marriage application is correct. If there are any unclear points, the marriage registration management authority will usually report it to the parties. Inquiries will be made and, if necessary, the parties will be asked to provide corresponding supporting materials.
(3) Registration (receiving certificate)
The marriage registration agency will register those who meet the marriage conditions and then issue a marriage certificate; for those who have divorced, the marriage registration agency will cancel their marriage certificates. The divorce certificate of the party concerned; for those who do not meet the conditions for marriage registration, the marriage registration agency will issue a "Notice of Refusal to Apply for Marriage Registration" at the request of the party concerned, explaining why registration is not granted.
What procedures and documents are required for divorce?
The divorce registration process is as follows:
(1) Application
Both spouses requesting divorce , both parties who need to divorce sign a divorce agreement as required, apply together to the marriage registration authority with jurisdiction, and provide the following application materials in accordance with the regulations:
1. Mainland marriage registration authority or China Marriage certificate issued by the embassy (consulate) abroad;
2. Valid identity documents that meet the requirements for divorce registration, such as ID card, household register, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan passes, passport, etc.;

The marriage registrar shall conduct an initial review of the above materials submitted by the parties in accordance with relevant regulations.
After the preliminary review of the certificates and supporting materials submitted by the parties is correct, a receipt for the acceptance of the divorce registration application will be issued to the parties. If the application conditions are not met, the marriage registration authority will not accept the application and, if necessary, will issue a "Notification of Non-Acceptance of Divorce Registration Application" at the request of the parties concerned.
(3) Cooling-off period
Within thirty days from the date when the marriage registration agency receives the divorce registration application and issues the "Divorce Registration Application Acceptance Receipt" to the parties, either party has If you don’t want to get divorced, you can submit your request to withdraw the divorce registration application to the marriage registration agency that accepts the divorce registration application with your valid identity document and the "Receipt Slip for Acceptance of Divorce Registration Application" (if it is lost, you do not need to provide it, but you need to explain the situation in writing) , and fill out the "Application for Withdrawal of Divorce Registration" in person. After verification by the marriage registration authority, the parties will be issued a "Confirmation of Withdrawal of Divorce Registration Application" and the "Application for Withdrawal of Divorce Registration", "Application with Withdrawal of Divorce Registration" and "Confirmation of Withdrawal of Divorce Registration" (stub copy) will be archived together. . If both parties fail to jointly go to the marriage registration authority to apply for a divorce certificate within thirty days after the expiration of the divorce cooling-off period, the divorce registration application will be deemed to have been withdrawn.
(4) Review
Within thirty days after the expiration of the divorce cooling-off period, (if the last day of the expiration period is a holiday, the first day after the holiday will be used as the cooling-off period date of expiration of the period), both parties shall hold the relevant documents and materials specified in the "Marriage Registration Work Standards", such as the divorce agreement signed by both parties, marriage certificate, photos, valid documents proving their identity, etc.* **Go to the marriage registration office to apply for a divorce certificate. (5) Registration and issuance of certificates
The marriage registration agency shall register the marriage in accordance with relevant regulations and then issue a divorce certificate to the parties.
