The origin of Yangshuo

How did the picturesque Yangshuo get its name? It is said that when the county was established in the Sui Dynasty, "Yangshuo" was used as the county name, which was named after the "Yangjiao" of Yangjiao Mountain. The homophony of the word. Later generations called Yangshuo Mountain Yangjiao Mountain. Did the county get its name from the mountain? Or is the mountain named after the county? This question must be addressed from the beginning.

In the first year of Wu Ganlu's reign (256) in the Three Kingdoms period, Xiping County was established as Qianxingping Shishiwei, the predecessor of Yangshuo County. In the tenth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (590), he moved to the current county seat. The county magistrate wanted to change the name of the county, but it was undecided for a while.

Except for the Liao family behind the county government office, there are pairs of peaks that plunge directly into the green mountains. At that time, there was a lonely child who was herding sheep for the rich man. People called him Sheep Boy. Every day I drove my sheep to graze under this pair of peaks. When I saw the two peaks standing side by side, they looked like sheep's horns, so I named it Yangjiao Mountain. The sheep boy was very smart. His sheep pen was set up next to the private school of the rich man's family. The rich man asked the school teacher to teach his children every year. Taking this opportunity, the sheep boy secretly learned a lot of knowledge. He often composed songs casually and responded to his requests. Therefore, the shepherd boys loved playing with him. He composed a song for Yangjiao Mountain: "The tip of the sheep's horn, the tip of the sheep's horn, the tip of the sheep's horn ascends to the ninth heaven." The shepherd boys took this as a mantra. They would go out early and return home late every day. When they passed behind the county government office, they would always sing loudly.

The county magistrate racked his brains to change the name of the county, but he couldn't come up with an appropriate one. One evening, he went for a walk in the back garden and heard the singing of the shepherd boys outside the wall. He became more and more fascinated as he listened. However, he misunderstood "The tip of the sheep's horn, the tip of the sheep's horn, the tip of the sheep's horn ascended to the ninth heaven" as "Yangshuo moved, Yangshuo moved, Yangshuo moved to the ninth heaven". Why did he cause misunderstanding? Because he moved to the county on the first day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar, October is the Yang month, and the first day of the Lunar New Year is the New Moon day, so he thought that "Yangshuo move" refers to the time when he moved to the county. As for "moving to the ninth heaven", of course it is It indicates that your official career will be prosperous in the future and will skyrocket. So I decided to report it to my superiors and use "Yangshuo" as the name of the county. A notice was also issued to inform the public that "Yangshuo" was the name of the county and was changed from a nursery rhyme.

The villagers read the notice and talked about it one after another. Some said: "What kind of nursery rhyme? It is clearly a Yangjiao folk song compiled by Yangwa"; some said: "Yangjiao" and "Yangshuo" have the same pronunciation, so what? Can the meaning be derived from sound? The county magistrate felt a little uneasy after hearing the discussions of these people.

One day, the county magistrate changed into casual clothes, rode a pony, and only one officer, went straight to the foot of Yangjiao Mountain. At this time, the sheep boys and the shepherd boys were resting under the shade of the trees on the mountainside) chatting and laughing. The county magistrate suddenly asked: "Who is the sheep baby?" The sheep baby replied: "It's me." The county magistrate ordered Ma Lai to tell him slowly, "Did you make up the Yangjiao folk song?" Yangwa admitted. The county magistrate was doubtful and wanted to test him, and then said: "Some people say that Yangshuo is a homophone for sheep's horn. Is it such a coincidence? If you can make up songs, you can definitely make a right answer. Now I will give you two words to answer, both of which are Yangshuo. It's a homophonic sound, but it also needs to be neatly contrasted." Yangwa nodded. The county magistrate waved the whip in his hand and said: "Horse whip", and the sheep boy said to him: "Sheep rope". The contrast between the sheep's rope and the horse's whip can be considered neat, and the pronunciation of the characters "Yangshuo" and "Yangshuo" are completely consistent. The county magistrate thought for a moment, shook his head and said: "No." You shouldn't reuse the word "sheep" for "ram's horn". It's a fly in the ointment. I'll give you two more words to correct it. The county magistrate pointed at Ya Yong's waist knife and said: "Saber", and Yangwa said to him: "Raise your arms". Yangshuo's sword alignment is more neat, and the pronunciation of "Yangshuo" and "Yangshuo" are exactly the same. The county magistrate couldn't find any more loopholes, and he secretly admired it in his heart.

From then on, the name of the county and the name of the mountain were inseparable, and it has been passed down as a story through the ages!

Landscape Legend West Street Story

In Yangshuo, a famous tourist county in China, There is a world-famous West Street.

West Street is a small street and one of the oldest streets in the county. A green stone road, two rows of low brick and wooden houses, small green tiles, whitewashed walls, sloping roofs, and stilted buildings exude a strong antique fragrance. In the past, apart from a few shops, most of the residents on West Street were farmers. They were in a half-business and half-agricultural situation of "half village and half shop, both for business and farming." In the early 1970s, when Yangshuo opened to the outside world, Western tourists discovered West Street. Westerners who were exhausted physically and mentally from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis and the fast-paced work found a "harbor" here to rest. At the same time, they showed a strong interest in the local simple and elegant houses, traditional culture, and folk customs, and wrote their unique feelings about West Street in their travel guides. In recent years, more than hundreds of thousands of overseas tourists visit West Street for sightseeing and leisure every year. Some of them stayed for a few days, ten days and a half, some stayed for a year or several years, and some simply got married and opened shops on West Street. West Street has become a "foreigner street" where Chinese and Western cultures blend, a "global village" that transcends regions, and a large-scale "foreign language corner."

West Street is the epitome of Yangshuo, and "West Street culture" is the sublation of Yangshuo's local culture. Mr. Qin Zhen has studied Yangshuo culture for many years and achieved fruitful results. He has written a large number of articles published in domestic and foreign media. The collection and publication of some of the research results this time is a blessing for local culture. "West Street Stories" introduces the characters of West Street, the customs of the streets, and the charm of the town in the form of ordinary people's stories, allowing readers to understand the customs and culture of West Street and even Yangshuo. The "Yangshuo Stone Carvings" section takes the interpretation of representative inscriptions distributed throughout the county as an entry point to record some major events, historical figures and customs in the history of Yangshuo, which is a valuable piece of information for understanding the history of Yangshuo.

West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo County. Two rows of low brick houses and a dark red stone road are a typical traditional small street in northern Guangxi. When Yangshuo County was established in the 10th year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (AD 590), the only street in the county seat was about 200 meters long and 5 meters wide. Except for a few shops selling daily necessities, most of the residents on the street were farmers. For more than a thousand years, this small street has maintained a half-commercial and half-agricultural status of "half village and half shop, both for business and farming." This historical state has enabled West Street to maintain the traditional style of a typical southern town, and has enabled West Street residents to develop the dual character of the open-mindedness of city dwellers and the simplicity of rural folks.

This kind of character and style has become a good basic condition for the development of West Street today

In the past, West Street, like the scenery of Yangshuo, has always been in a state of "hiding in a boudoir and unknown to people". In the early 1970s, Guilin Yangshuo was officially opened to the outside world. After enjoying the scenery of the Li River in Yangshuo, many Western tourists came to Yangshuo County and accidentally walked into the West Street. Only then did they realize that among these strange mountains and beautiful waters, there was such a charming street. small street. These Westerners were like Columbus when he discovered the New World, and wrote down their novel and beautiful impressions of West Street in travel guides published in the West. In the 1980s, self-guided tourism entered our country, and Western self-guided tourists flocked to West Street. These Westerners, who are exhausted physically and mentally from the hustle and bustle of the city and the fast-paced work, find a haven of rest here

The origin of Guilin City

In the center of Guilin City, there is a seat made of bluestone. It was built into a royal city with a radius of several li and a height of more than one foot. In the middle of this royal city, a unique peak rises as straight as a bamboo shoot. From a distance, it looks like a jade pagoda built straight on the ground; from a close look, it looks like a round Optimus Prime inserted into the ground. Everyone calls it the South Tianzhu. If you want to know the origin of Nantianzhu and Guilin City, you have to start with Qin Shihuang's land reclamation!

According to legend, after Qin Shihuang unified the six kingdoms, he recruited civilians to rebuild the Great Wall and built the Afang Palace. In addition, he personally inspected everywhere and wanted to expand his territory.

One day, he walked to the South China Sea and saw that the sea was flat and wide. He thought: If all the mountains and ridges on the land were filled up, the land would be flat and wide. That would be great. ah!

Qin Shihuang ran back to the palace and told the civil and military officials of the court about this idea. Everyone felt as if they had eaten raw persimmons and were so astringent that they could not open their mouths. Qin Shihuang saw that everyone could not think of a solution, so he sighed in the palace all day long, his brows furrowed like the bark of a chestnut tree. One day, an overseer of the construction of the Great Wall suddenly came to report: "Your Majesty, a good thing is a good thing! The civilian men who built the Great Wall didn't know where they got the red silk threads. When they carried the burden, they all put it on their shoulders, and they became stronger. They have to compete with an ox. Those peasants used to walk with their backs bent like shrimps, but now they carry their shoulders as straight as palm trees..." Qin Shihuang felt strange at first, but then he laughed when he thought about it. He got up and hurriedly asked the supervisor to go back quickly and collect all the silk threads from the civilian husband's shoulders. The overseer took the order and ran out of the palace like a rabbit.

It didn’t take long, and the supervisor sent the silk thread. Qin Shi Huang braided it into a whip. He walked out of the palace, picked up the whip and waved it at the hills. Those hills were really like cattle and sheep walking slowly after seeing the whip. Qin Shihuang was so happy that he laughed three times in a row, and immediately decided to rush up the mountains and ridges to fill the South China Sea. He walked and hurried, and saw that he was getting closer and closer to the South China Sea. Some of the mountains at the forefront rolled into the sea. Qin Shihuang sang proudly: "The mountains are obedient and the hills are obedient, go to the south to fill the sea..."

Who knew that his singing was heard by the windy ears on Putuo Mountain in the South China Sea. Shunfeng'er hurriedly ran up the mountain and told Guanyin Bodhisattva the song sung by Qin Shihuang. When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva heard this, he asked Shancai Boy to go down the mountain to see what was going on. After a cup of tea, the boy Shancai came back and reported: "It's not good, Qin Shihuang drove the mountain down to the sea, and the sea water was squeezed up the hillside." After hearing this, Guanyin Bodhisattva raised her eyebrows and said softly: "That's good. Good!" The boy Shancai was eager to snatch the whip from Qin Shihuang's hand. Guanyin Bodhisattva said: "You don't need to go, someone will ask him to put down the whip."

Qin Shihuang drove nine thousand nine hundred and ninety miles in the mountains, and his legs were never sore, his feet were never soft, and his mouth was never weak. Not thirsty. I don't know what happened, but suddenly my back felt numb, and my feet felt like they were tied with a thousand kilograms of rope. If I moved a step, the sweat all over my body would roll down in bunches like corn seeds. His throat was as dry as white cracks in a dry field, and his lips were so dry that raw blood dripped from his lips. If he didn't get any water, he would faint. Coincidentally, at this moment, a homeless couple walked past him carrying a water bottle. Qin Shihuang asked them for water. The wandering young couple had good intentions and hurriedly handed over the kettle. Qin Shihuang put down his whip, took the kettle and drank loudly. When he was full and returned the kettle to the young couple, he suddenly discovered that the mountain whip placed on the ground was missing. Qin Shihuang guessed that the young couple must be up to something. He was so angry that he breathed fire from his nostrils, drew his sword and struck at the young couple. At this time, the sky suddenly shouted: "Stop! The red silk thread was given by Guanyin Bodhisattva to the people to relieve their fatigue. It was not given to you to fill the mountains and seas. The Bodhisattva has already taken it back. This couple brought you water to quench your thirst. How can you still return it?" Want to kill them?" When Qin Shihuang heard this, he was so wet that he was speechless for a while. After a while, he saw that the mountains that were not driven into the sea were all like shaved monks' heads, with not a single tree or a blade of grass. He thought that no matter how wide the land was, the extra six fingers would be useless. It would be better to seal it to the young couple. Firstly, he would expand his territory, and secondly, he would repay their kindness in bringing water to quench their thirst. Thinking of this, he pointed to the mountains and ridges and said to the young couple: "Set your home here, plant trees on the mountains, and grow grains on the mountains!" Seeing the emperor's golden mouth, the wandering couple had no choice but to agree. .

The young couple waited for Qin Shihuang to leave and ran up the mountain. They saw that these mountains were full of large bluestones stacked up and down. Although there was a layer of mud at the foot of the mountain, it was also the thin soil of Huang Jingjing. Where can trees and grains be grown in such a place? But everyone knows that Qin Shihuang is a man who cuts people's heads like hemp. Who dares to disobey what he says? The two of them found a cave to live in with sad faces. You looked at me, I looked at you, and couldn't help but hold your head and burst into tears. The two of them cried until the moon turned west, then they closed their eyes and fell asleep.

Early the next morning, my husband woke up from his dream first. He pushed his wife to wake up and said: "It's strange. I dreamed that a Bodhisattva holding a purification bottle told me that there was a quiet spring in this cave.

As long as the two of us sincerely bring water, no matter how thin the land is, sorghum and rice will grow in less than three days; no matter how barren the mountain is, red flowers, green grass, and cypress trees will grow in less than seven days. , Osmanthus tree. After hearing what her husband said, the wife was surprised and said, "What a strange thing!" I also had the same dream as you!

Although the couple was dubious, they still decided to go into the cave to find out the truth. They endured their hunger and slowly crawled into the cave. Their hands were scratched by stones and their knees were bleeding. Climbing into a stone threshold, they continued to climb forward. When they climbed past the third threshold, they finally heard the sound of running water. They felt that their dream had come true, and they climbed to the spring in one breath. The clear water swayed like a long dragon, flowing out from the cracks in the rocks, flowing through the five-foot stone trough, and then dived into the bottom of the rock cracks. The two took a few sips of the water, which tasted like honey. It was just as sweet, and my hungry stomach suddenly felt full. They hurriedly took the bamboo water bottle, scooped up the water, and carried it outside the cave. For three days and three nights, the spring water soaked eight hundred and sixty-four flat areas and ninety-nine and eighty-one mountains.

One day has passed, and the land is still as thin and the mountains are still as bare. Two days later, the soil was still yellow and the mountains were still stony. Three days later, the couple walked out of the cave and saw, ah! Green sorghum and rice were really growing on the ground. Seven days later, The couple climbed up the mountain and saw that grass, flowers, cypress trees, and sweet-scented osmanthus trees were really growing on the mountain. From this day on, the couple smiled like flowers blooming in March. There was firewood and rice, and their life was so sweet. They lived happily for a year, and then a chubby baby was born. The golden osmanthus bloomed, and the fragrance made the family feel like they were drunk, so they named the baby——Gui Wa.

Gui Wa was born three years ago. God, it’s time to wash up! Guiwa’s father got some red eggs for his round face (rolling the eggs on the child’s face to show that the child is as round and beautiful as an egg), and boiled egg liqueur to nourish Guiwa’s body. When my mother saw these things, she said to her husband: "You are ready for this and that, but there is one most important thing that you are not ready for. ”

“What else do you want to do?” Guiwa's father asked.

Guiwa's mother said: "|When we first came here, the mountains were bare and there was nothing on the ground. It was only through the Bodhisattva's dreams that we found clear water, and this place changed. Sample. Today, when I am going to wash Guiwa for three times, I should worship the Bodhisattva first! ”

After Gui Wa’s father heard what his wife said was reasonable, he respectfully set up the offering table outside the cave, and put the offering fruits, wine, and incense lamps in place. Then, the couple knelt down holding Gui Wa in their arms. After thanking the Bodhisattva in front of the offering table, the couple poured the boiled cypress wood-scented soup and boiled osmanthus perfume into a large wooden basin to wash the osmanthus for three days. Strangely enough, they didn't know how to put the perfume. With one touch, Guiwa stretched out her legs and hands, and in the blink of an eye she grew three feet taller; with another wash, Guiwa turned over in the basin and stood up to walk, so that she could shout "Abba, dad!" "Ama". The couple regarded Guiwa as their treasure, hugging and kissing her. Guiwali was also extremely well-behaved. He understood everything when he heard it and knew everything when he saw it. He followed him just after he was one month old. My father and mother went to the fields to plant sorghum and went up to the mountains to plant trees. They clapped their hands and laughed when they saw it.

Who knew Guiwa would branch out when the tree grew taller? On the day of the Three Dynasties, the fragrance of cypress wood and osmanthus wine wafted to the Taiqing Palace on the 33rd day. When the Jade Emperor smelled this fragrance, his whole body felt like fried jujubes, and he felt so comfortable. He hurriedly ordered the Great Sage Xuntian to check where the fragrance came from. The Great Sage Xuntian went to Nantianmen to have a look, and then ran back to the Taiqing Palace to report: "Qiu Jade Emperor, that strange fragrance is a mortal pair." The couple used soda wood and osmanthus wine to wash the baby for three dynasties. The fragrance of cypress wood lasts all year round, and the fragrance of osmanthus wine never disappears. So this fragrance lingered for thirty-three days. "

The Jade Emperor smiled and said: "Wonderful, wonderful! I never imagined that there are such precious trees in the mortal world. If we build a temple in the sky and brew the fairy juice, the aroma will be fragrant inside and outside for thirty-three days!

The Great Sage of Patrolling the Sky is a character who adapts to the changing circumstances. He said: "It is not difficult for the emperor to want this tree. He just needs to ask Lord Huo Dou Xing to come down to earth and get it!" The Jade Emperor heard the truth and then Order Huo Dou Xingjun to go to the human world quickly.

On this day, Guiwa, her father and mother were picking osmanthus flowers on the mountain with baskets in their hands. A Taoist priest with red hair, a red beard, and a red robe walked up to Gui Wa's parents and told her that he wanted to buy all the sweet-scented osmanthus and osmanthus trees on the mountain. When Dad and Mom saw that this person was coming out of nowhere and was acting strangely, their hearts beat like drums, and they said fearfully: "These trees were poured out by a ladle of water and a ladle of sweat. Now they have just become a forest and are blooming." We really can’t bear to sell the flower. You insist on it, so we have to give it to you.”

After hearing this, the red-robed Taoist said angrily: “Well done! I'll leave some stems for you to plant seeds. If you don't agree, I won't even leave any roots! I think you can throw a stone at the sky?" Gui Wa and her parents became angry when they saw this man's unreasonable behavior. With their hearts in their hearts, they said at the same time: "You insist on knocking over the cow's head to drink salt water - you are specifically trying to deceive good-hearted people. We won't even give you a leaf. Let's see what you can do to us!"

"Okay! Just wait and see." The red-robed Taoist said and left.

On this day, the whole family felt like a fire was burning in their hearts, and they sat there until midnight before falling asleep unhappy. They had been sleeping for a while when they suddenly heard a roar that shook the mountains and the earth. The family hurriedly ran out to take a look and saw that the mountains and ridges were burning with red fire, and the cypress and sweet-scented osmanthus trees were all wrapped in the flames. Guiwa and her parents desperately grabbed the bucket, picked up the water and ran up the mountain to put out the fire. Who would have thought that as soon as the water was poured, a whirlwind blew up and Guiwa's father and mother were swept into the sea of ??fire and burned to death.

Gui Wa was so frightened that she shouted "Abba, Ama", but the mountain was covered with fire and no one could be seen. After a while, the fire all over the mountain suddenly rolled into a pillar of fire. There seemed to be a red-robed Taoist in the pillar of fire, leading the fire ball to quiver into the sky. Gui Wa cried and shouted for a while, and then saw a pair of fiery red phoenixes flying up from the burnt bare mountain. They circled three times on Gui Wa's head and flew to the back of the mountain. Gui Wa lost her father and mother and cried until she passed out. This is like a Bodhisattva wearing a snow-white gauze scarf and holding a bottle of pure water in his hand, giving him three cowboy cakes to eat. The Bodhisattva also told Gui Wa that all this was done by Lord Huo Dou Xing. All the cypress trees and sweet-scented osmanthus trees in the mountain were taken to Nantianmen. As long as the red phoenix is ??found, it will help Gui Wa take revenge. In the blink of an eye, the Bodhisattva disappeared, but Guiwa stretched his waist and grew three feet taller; when his hand touched the rock, the entire rock wall shook. Gui Wa felt very strange and didn't know where the strength came from. So he climbed the mountain further and further toward the back mountain. He climbed ninety-nine and eighty-one mountains, crossed eighty-eighty-nine and sixty-four depths, and finally found the pair of fiery red phoenixes in a rock nest halfway up the cliff. Oddly enough, when the Phoenix couple saw Gui Wa, they kissed her on the face and patted her on the shoulder. They were as affectionate as a father and a mother meeting their son. Finally, each of the two phoenixes spit out a melon seed on Guiwa's hand, and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Gui Wa took the melon seeds back and dug a hole outside the cave to bury them.

The next morning, I saw two melon vines growing out. The stem is less than a foot short, but it bears a golden gourd. The melon is yellow and red inside, and is as big as a basket. Gui Wa happily picked it and made a water hyacinth, preparing to use it to water the mountains so that trees could grow in the mountains. The other melon vine grew so high that it reached its top, reaching up to the blue sky; the other melon vine was as thick as a pagoda, and it would take dozens of arms to surround it. Guiwa climbed up the melon vine every day to see it, but she couldn't reach the top even though she climbed up and down. One day, Guiwa held Guiteng and asked: "Guiteng, Guateng, where did you take me?" As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Guiteng say: "I took it to Nantianmen!"

Gui Wa jumped up with joy when she heard that the melon vine was taken to Nantianmen. He thought, didn't the Bodhisattva say that the cypress trees and sweet-scented osmanthus trees planted by my father and mother were all at Nantianmen? Thinking of this, he hurriedly climbed up the melon vine with the gourd on his back. I don’t know how long he climbed. He drank the gourd water he brought with him three times a day, then three sips a day, and then three drops a day. He drank up the gourd water as big as a basket before climbing to the top of the melon vine. If you look carefully, you’ve really arrived at Nantianmen! Just when he was about to jump off the melon vine and walk into the Nantian Gate, he saw the bearded land father-in-law guarding the gate with a cane. Gui Wa had no choice but to hide under the melon vines and wait for the opportunity, but while she waited, the damn land-gathering father-in-law stood there like a rooted stone, not taking a step away. What to do? At this time, he discovered that the side of Nantianmen was also covered with melon vines, which were twisted together with this melon vine.

Gui Wa quietly untied the gourd from her body, got in by herself, stretched out her hands from the mouth of the gourd, grabbed the melon vine leading into Nantianmen, and slowly climbed in through the melon leaves when the wind blew the melon leaves. Go to Nantianmen. Later, Gui Wa waited in the gourd for a long time, and finally heard the land father-in-law snoring to sleep, and then he climbed out of the gourd. As soon as his feet landed, he smelled the scent of osmanthus. That came out of a house. Gui Wa was dying of thirst, so she ducked into the room and saw that it was full of sweet-scented osmanthus juice soaked in wine. He drank a lot and filled the gourd full. Walking out of the room, he smelled the aroma of cypress wood again. Following the scent, he found the place where the cypress wood was placed. Gui Wa crawled over, carried out the brightest and straightest cypress wood, pulled out a melon vine, tied the cypress wood tightly, and wanted to drop the wood from the sky. Unexpectedly, one end of the cylindrical wood touched the pillar capital of Nantianmen, causing a clang to wake up the father-in-law who was sleeping soundly. The father-in-law of the land shouted when he saw someone alive. Gui Wa was startled and dropped the cypress wood from her hand. His foot slipped and he fell from Nantianmen into the clouds and mist. Gui Wa thought, this is the end, falling from the sky to the ground, why not smash it into meat? However, he suddenly felt his body shake, and it turned out that he was already sitting on two phoenixes. The phoenix carried him through the clouds and fog, and landed safely on his own land. The two phoenixes nodded three times to Gui Wa, then spread their wings and flew away. Gui Wa kowtowed three times in the direction where the two phoenixes were flying.

Gui Wa kowtowed and got up to take a look. She saw a new high-rise house built in front of the cave door. The melons and vines were gone. On the flat ground where the surrounding mountains were closed, there were shuttlecocks that fell from the sky sticking straight out. Cypress wood. Gui Wa ran up and touched the soda wood and thought, it would be great if this tree could come alive. So he untied the gourd on his back and poured the sweet-scented osmanthus juice on the cypress wood. Who knows where the water was poured, it hardened, and the cypress wood suddenly became a stone pillar like jade. This is today's Duxiu Peak.

Gui Wa originally wanted to pour the cypress wood back to life, but unexpectedly it turned into a stone pillar instead. I felt very unhappy. He dropped the gourd to the ground. The gourd rolled on the ground, and a drop of water came out of its mouth. As soon as the water fell to the ground, a sweet-scented osmanthus sapling immediately grew. Gui Wa was so happy that peonies bloomed on her face. He quickly picked up the gourd and saw that there was a large amount of water inside. He picked up the gourd, used his feet like drumsticks to beat a drum, ran up to the Solitary Beauty Peak of Soba Wood, took all the sweet-scented osmanthus juice in the gourd and sprayed it in all directions. Within a few days, the mountains around Duxiu Peak grew sweet-scented osmanthus trees. Since then, although the cypress trees here have disappeared, there have been more and more osmanthus flowers. Later, it became a city with beautiful scenery, and everyone called this beautiful city Guilin City
