Transducer axial distance calculation formula
The following calculation formula is only applicable to the propagation velocity difference method ultrasonic flowmeter (hereinafter referred to as the flowmeter), and L and the transducer Regarding the installation method. The calculation formulas for the commonly used Z method, V method, and X method are listed below.
1 When the transducer of the flow meter is installed according to the Z method, L is calculated according to formulas (1) to (4).
When specifically installing the transducer: Calculate L using the general method, and mark the position on the pipe for accurate installation. You can also use graph paper to cut a long strip with a width of L, wrap it around the pipe wall so that the length of the paper is equal to the circumference, and then fold it in half to determine the installation position of the transducer. Each manufacturer will provide methods for installing transducers, which can be implemented as a reference.
L=2L1+L2 (1)
L1=δtanθ1 (2)
L2=Dtanθ (3)
Calculate L When , if C0, C1, and C are known, θ1 and θ can be obtained according to equation (4) (generally θ0 is given by the manufacturer).
sin/C=sinθ1/C=sinθ/C (4)
Each quantity in the formula (see Figure 1):
δ——pipe wall Thickness;
D——inner diameter of the pipe;
θ0——the incident angle of the sound filter to the outer wall of the pipe;
θ1——sound wave in the pipe wall refraction angle;
θ - refraction angle of sound wave in fluid;
C0 - sound speed of sound wave in sound wedge (referring to longitudinal wave);
C1——The speed of sound in the pipe wall (generally refers to the transverse wave);
C——The speed of sound in the fluid.
2 When the transducer of the flow meter is installed according to the V method, L is calculated according to formula (5).
L=2(L1+L2)
The quantities in the formula are shown in Figure 2. L1 and L2 are calculated according to formulas (2) and (3) respectively
< p>3 When the transducer of the flow meter is installed in X mode, L is calculated according to formula (6).L=2L1+L2
See Figure 3 for each of the formulas. L1 and L2 are calculated according to formulas (2) and (3) respectively.
