Concepts FAQ (Issue 1)

1. Why can’t I find the eraser and text tools in the new version?

The brush, eraser, text and preview tools are all in the tool configuration page. The tool wheel can hold 8 tools. If the eraser and text tools are not in the wheel, you need to find them in the tool configuration and then configure them on the wheel. The specific steps are as follows:

Step 1: Double-click the tool on the wheel that you do not need to use temporarily (if it is the currently selected tool, just click it) to enter the tool configuration page;

Step 2: Click the required tool, such as the eraser, and then click "Close" at the top of the page to return to the canvas. You'll see the eraser appear at the location of the tool you clicked in the first step.

2. Why am I prompted to purchase the Pro package now that I have already purchased it?

We need to judge in three aspects:

(1). If you purchased it on iPhone, it cannot be used on iPad now. Because initially there was only an iPad version of Concept Sketchboard, and later an iPhone version was added, the price of the iPhone version of the Pro suite is nearly half that of the iPad version, but the iPhone version of the Pro suite cannot be used on the iPad. If you need to use the Pro set on the iPad, you need to click "Resume Purchase" on the purchase page that pops up on the iPad (you must click "Resume Purchase", otherwise you may be asked to pay the full price), and the iPad can be used after paying the price difference. Pro set.

(2). If you have switched the App Store region or the Apple ID logged in to the current device is not the Apple ID used when you purchased it, you will not be able to use the Pro package. Apple has regulations that projects in different regions cannot be shared exclusively.

(3). Check whether you have logged in to the App Store with your Apple ID. If not, you will not be able to use Pro permissions.

3. Why can’t I click “Next” when registering a Concepts account?

As far as we know, the current causes of this problem are mainly network problems and password setting problems. You restart the device and when setting the password, please set a password of at least eight digits.

4. Can you recommend a pressure-sensitive pen for drawing?

We do not recommend a specific pressure-sensitive pen because everyone has different preferences. Of course, if you are lucky enough to own an iPad Pro, it is undoubtedly recommended that you use the Apple pencil.

The most popular pressure-sensitive pens currently supported are:

Apple Pencil (/apple-pencil/) (only applicable to iPad Pro)

Adobe Ink (/products/ink-and-slide.html) (Note: Concepts supports Ink, but does not support Slide ruler)

Adonit Jot Touch ( Intuos Creative Stylus 2 (.com/en-us/ products/stylus/intuos-creative-stylus-2)

Wacom Bamboo Fineline 2 (.com/en-us/products/stylus/bamboo-fineline-2)

Pencil by FiftyThree (/pencil)

These pressure-sensitive pens require Bluetooth low energy, so please do not use them on the iPad 2.

If you don’t need pressure sensitivity, use passive pressure. The pen feels good to use.

5. Where can I merge layers or delete layers?

First click the layer button on the canvas:

Then double-click the layer that needs to be merged (the upper one of the two layers that need to be merged) or the layer that needs to be deleted. A layer menu appears with seven functions, including selecting the entire layer, locking the layer, copying the layer, deleting the layer, merging layers, naming the layer, and adjusting layer opacity. Just click on the function you want to operate.

6. Why can’t I use the selection tool that could select multiple items after the update?

After version 5, we divided the selection tools into two types: lasso and element selector. Lasso is mainly used for multiple line content. Use lasso when selecting the whole. The element selector is suitable for adjusting individual lines. For example, if there is a line in the drawing that is not drawn well, then we need to select this line separately. The old version of long-press selection will identify all nearby lines, and it is not easy to find a specific one. line. In the new version, you can select the element selector, then long-press and drag it to the line that needs to be modified. When the line is highlighted, let go and it will be selected, and then you can edit it. For details on using the selection function, please see the following articles and videos:
