Relationship between generic names and trade names of drugs
The generic name of drugs refers to the drug name (CADN) approved by China, which is the legal name of drugs formulated by the Pharmacopoeia Committee according to the principle of naming generic names of drugs and reported to the Ministry of Health for the record. It is the generic name of drugs with the same composition or formula in China, which is mandatory and binding. Therefore, generic names must be used on the labels, instructions or packages of drugs listed and circulated. Its naming shall conform to the provisions of the Principles for Naming General Names of Drugs and shall not be used for trademark registration.

A trade name is a product name determined by a pharmaceutical manufacturer and approved by the pharmaceutical supervisory and administrative department. It is proprietary and cannot be copied. Under a common name, there may be multiple commodity names due to different manufacturers.

Remember the key words: common names are legal names, which are mandatory and binding. The trade name is decided by the drug manufacturer. Due to different manufacturers, a common name can have multiple commodity names.

For example, there is a cold medicine commonly known as "compound paracetamol and amantadine capsules (or tablets)", which is produced by many manufacturers. Different manufacturers give their own "compound paracetamol and amantadine capsules (or tablets)" a different trade name from other manufacturers' products. So there are commodity names: Gekko, Kuaike, Kuaikang, Kurt, Wang Gan, Gankang, Gambang, Bukang, Gu Quan, Renhe Kelike and so on.

The relationship between them is actually the same drug, the drug standard is the same, and the detection method is the same. It's just that each manufacturer has taken another name.
