Contact one or more FSC accredited certification bodies. The certification body needs some basic information of your company in order to make a preliminary estimate of the required certification cost and time. Certification bodies will provide you with information about FSC certification requirements. Choose a certification body that cooperates with you and sign an agreement with it to conduct certification audit and evaluate your company's certification qualification. The data collected in the audit process is the basis of the audit report, and the certification body will make the certification decision according to the report. If the certification decision is affirmative, you will get the FSC certificate. If the audit shows that your company does not fully meet the requirements of FSC, the certification body will further audit your company after completing the proposed revision of the certification report.
The FSC certificate is valid for five years. However, FSC-accredited certification bodies will conduct annual supervision and audit to verify whether your company continues to meet FSC certification requirements.
