How to adjust the transparent acrylic material in 3Dmax?

1. The first step is to switch the standard material to V-Ray material. Click the standard button below the material ball to find the VRayMtl material.

2. The parameters in the V-Ray material panel are basically the same as those of the standard material. It is also a natural color, self-illumination, reflection and refraction. It’s just that these parameters have more parameters than standard materials and can more accurately simulate real materials in real life.

3. The reflection value of glass is generally between 50-60. After turning on the small button L after highlighting, the highlight value Hilight glossiness is about 0.95 and the reflection blur is about 0.98. Subdividing generally smooth objects is given a value in the 8-12 range. Glass does not require Fresnel reflections.

4. The reflection value is generally changed to white and transparent, which is 255, because the refraction value determines the transparency, and glass is transparent. Pull the color block all the way down and you will see that the teapot in the scene will immediately become transparent. Here we also need to adjust the refractive index IOR. Generally, the refractive value of glass is about 1.5. Effect shadows must also be checked here. Otherwise, the glass cannot show shadows when illuminated.
