Seedless lychee is a unique product of Hainan. Its flesh is like gelatin, crystal clear and crisp, and tastes residue-free. It has more flesh, juicier and sweeter texture than ordinary lychees. Seedless lychees are developing rapidly in Hainan Province. The planting area in the province reaches more than 10,000 acres, mainly distributed in Chengmai, Haikou, Lingao and other places. Among them, Chengmai County has the fastest promotion of seedless lychees, with a planting area of ??more than 7,000 acres. Accounting for 70% of the province’s seedless lychee planting area.

Introduction
The most delicious fruit in the South is probably the lychee. The lychees in the Wuzhou volcano area ripen earliest and can be eaten in early summer, and they taste quite delicious. But the lychees in Gaopan are the best and only ripen in May and June. There is a kind of seedless lychee that is shaped like an egg. The fruit is large and as white as crystal. It is hot and tastes very sweet. It can be called a "wonderful fruit" [1].
The fruit is crooked and heart-shaped, with an average fruit weight of 30 grams, bright red skin, stable seedless properties, and medium quality. The fruits mature from mid-to-late June to early July, with early and high yields, and the soil requirements are not strict.
Source of seedless lychees
Chengmai seedless lychees were invented by Hainan farmer Wang Tingbiao in 1997. He used 37 Hainan lychee elite and rare mother trees for screening and breeding, and successfully bred them. . After four times of grafting, selecting the best from the best, selecting the best from the best, and adopting complex cultivation techniques, from wild screening to cultivation of fine varieties to multiple grafting of superior varieties, high-quality seedless lychees can be obtained, and the yield is extremely rare.
Of course, in the lychee family, not only those without seeds can be called "seedless lychees". Only those that are seedless can achieve large fruit shape, red color, thin skin, and no size. The fruit can be called "seedless lychee".
Shape description
The seedless lychee fruit is as big as a table tennis ball, with a bright red cracked shell and a purple silk-like soft membrane wrapped around the pulp. The elastic pulp is like gelatin. Carrying juice that may bloom at any time and refreshing fragrance. As soon as you bite into it, rich juice suddenly spurts out. The natural slight acidity of lychee is retained in the sweetness.
Nuclear-free safety
First of all, the origin of seedless lychees is in the Hainan area, which is most suitable for the growth of seedless lychees. Receiving the most suitable sunshine and rainwater, coupled with the air environment of the local "longevity township", the seedless lychees can lock in the natural original flavor on the basis of an excellent environment.
Healthy seedless lychees
Eating golden red seedless lychees is not only about the taste, but also about health. In Cai Xiang's "Lychee Pu", which specifically discusses lychees, the benefits of seedless lychees are recorded in detail.
Classification of seedless lychees
The more authentic seedless lychee is Chengmai’s golden red seedless lychee.
This brand of seedless lychees adopts a nutritional concentration strategy to concentrate the essence into every pulp. To ensure that each high-quality mother tree can deliver sufficient nutrients to each fruit. Golden Red Seedless Lychee specially adopts the strategy of controlling the branches of the mother tree and cultivating the trees and fruits to inhibit the excessive growth of the mother tree and ensure that it only bears fruit once a year, and the fruit nutrients are fully distributed and absorbed. After six years of investment in manpower, material resources and energy, the yield of each fruit tree in the orchard is only 40 kilograms, but the quality of the fruits has been improved compared to ordinary seedless lychees.
Research on Seedless Lychee
Seedless lychee is a unique tropical plant resource in my country. It mainly originates from Hainan Island and has not been reported abroad. It was discovered in Qiongshan, Hainan in 1995. In the six years since 2000, grafting and propagation were carried out several times, but the survival rate was less than 1%, and large-scale cultivation could not be achieved. The industrialization of excellent fruit tree resources was seriously hindered.
In 2001, our laboratory identified the seedless lychee as a mutant, and the incompatibility between the scion and the rootstock was the main reason for the extremely low graft survival rate. In order to solve this problem, modern molecular biology methods were applied and specific SSR markers were used to conduct genetic diversity analysis and grafting compatibility tests on 37 lychee varieties or germplasm for tropical crop industry development research. At the same time, supporting research on other basic application aspects of seedless lychee has also been carried out, including the biology of embryo degeneration, dynamics of endogenous hormones in the embryo, protein differences between degraded embryos and developing embryos, sequence analysis and gene isolation, and research on seedless lychee. Certain progress has been made in the cloning of genes related to flower, fruit, and embryo development, as well as research on seedless lychee export preservation and long-term long-distance transportation standardization, which have provided strong scientific and technological support for the industrialization of seedless lychees [2].
