Types of thermometers
Of course, a thermometer is essential to take your temperature. Different thermometers have their own advantages and disadvantages. Generally speaking, thermometers sold in the market can be divided into the following types according to different materials:
(1) glass mercury thermometer:
This is the most common thermometer, which is divided into three types: anal thermometer (thick round head), underarm thermometer (thin flat head) and oral thermometer (thin round head).
Among all kinds of thermometers, the temperature measured by this thermometer is the most accurate, but because of the fine scale, the measured temperature is not easy to read and is easily broken.
(2) electronic digital thermometer:
This is a new product that has been widely used in recent ten years. It is a kind of thermometer with digital display, which meets the shortcoming that the glass mercury thermometer is not easy to read.
The electronic thermometer has only one shape, which can measure the temperature of anus, armpit or mouth at the same time. Under normal circumstances, if the battery is not damp, it can be tested for about 10,000 times, and heavy fall should be avoided when using it to avoid circuit damage and failure.
(3) sticker thermometer:
This is a kind of temperature measuring paper that can be used repeatedly and pressed on the forehead, and will change color according to the body temperature. Because of its small size, it is impossible to accurately measure body temperature, but it is very convenient to carry when traveling.
(4) nipple thermometer:
Nipple thermometers are mainly used to measure the body temperature of babies who suck milk. It's the same shape as a baby's nipple. If you suspect that the baby has a fever, you can put it in the child's mouth, then take it and measure the temperature.
(5) Ear thermometer:
This thermometer is shaped like an otoscope. Put one end in your ear and press the "trigger", you can know a person's temperature in one second, and you can display two kinds of body temperatures, namely anal temperature and oral temperature, but they are expensive, so ordinary families don't need an ear thermometer.
6 disposable thermometer:
This is a newly imported thermometer in recent three or four years. Its shape is slightly flat, so the outlet temperature can be measured correctly. It can only be discarded once, which can avoid infection between patients, but the relative cost is also high.
