The origin of the village name began in the Tang Dynasty
In ancient times, there was a saying of "red dates and brown chestnuts". Chestnuts are important dried fruits native to China. Miyun, as the main chestnut producing area in Yanshan, began planting chestnuts on a large scale as early as the Tang Dynasty. The name of Houliyuan Village also comes from the planting of chestnuts. Houliyuan Village is located in the piedmont plain on the north bank of the Chaohe River. According to historical records, it was established as a village in the Ming Dynasty. Before the village was built here, there used to be a large chestnut tree garden. The south of the garden was called Qianli Garden, and the north of the garden was called Houli Garden. Although there are not many areas planted with chestnut trees in the village, the name of the village continues to this day.
The largest free-range chicken base in Beijing
When it comes to chicken eggs, many people living in the capital will think of the "Century Liyuan", but what many people don't know is "Centennial Liyuan" is located in Houliyuan Village. Centennial Liyuan Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. is located in the southeast of Houliyuan Village. The company was established in 2005 with an investment of 12 million yuan, and the registered trademark is "Centennial Liyuan". The village used idle barren hills and slopes to build a standardized free-range demonstration training base for firewood laying hens covering an area of ??6,000 acres. It also built 40 firewood laying hen breeding greenhouses and implemented fully enclosed management far away from the village. At the same time, it solved the problem of 40 firewood laying hens in the village. More than one labor force is employed. Due to its unified breeding environment, housing design, feeding technology, feed preparation and comprehensive epidemic prevention, it has a set of standardized free-range technologies for laying hens. In 2006, the brand passed the national organic food and AA green food certification. At present, the "Centennial Liyuan" brand organic wood-fired eggs have entered more than 240 large and medium-sized supermarkets in Beijing, such as Wal-Mart, Makro, and Century Lianhua. They are very popular among citizens. The sales of eggs are in short supply. In the first half of this year alone, Revenue is 13 million yuan.
In order to ensure the quality of firewood eggs, the company has carefully explored aspects such as chicken breed selection and feeding methods. First of all, the chicken varieties purchased by the company are all Beijing oil chickens. Oil chickens have strong survival ability, stable genetic performance, excellent chicken and egg quality, and are one of the most precious local chicken breeds in my country. Secondly, their living environment is different from that of captive chickens. They are all raised on hillsides. They eat grasshopper seeds on the mountains in summer and autumn, and some organic feed and corn in winter. The company has developed a corn production base of 5,000 acres in the county and supplies corn to the chicken egg base every year. In addition, the company also sends technical personnel to supervise and guide corn planting to ensure that no chemical fertilizers are used in corn. When the corn matures, the company purchases it strictly in accordance with pollution-free standards. The corn that meets the standards is processed and used to feed laying hens. We are so particular about what we eat, so compared to ordinary eggs, century-old Liyuan eggs are much smaller in size but much more nutritious and rich in immune factors, making them the most ideal egg product.
In order to meet market demand, Centennial Liyuan has expanded its business scale through the "company farmer" model, and currently has more than 400 members in the county.
Speaking of future development, Chairman Liu Chengjun of "Centennial Liyuan" said with confidence: "We must continue to improve the industrial chain, make the chicken egg industry bigger and stronger, and form a scale. At present, a 2,000-square-meter An agricultural product display center and a modern logistics center covering an area of ??3,000 square meters with an investment of 5 million yuan have been completed and can be put into use immediately. A chicken breeding factory and an organic feed factory covering an area of ??more than 70 acres are currently under construction and are planned to be built next year. Build a slaughterhouse, and the completion of these facilities will better promote the development of the 'Century Liyuan' brand." (The picture shows the entrance of Houliyuan Village)
