the "ce" mark is a safety certification mark, which is regarded as the passport opened by the manufacturer and entered the European market. CE stands for Conformite Europe. All products labeled with "CE" can be sold in EU member states without meeting the requirements of each member state, thus realizing the free circulation of goods in EU member states.
CE certification-issuing agency (1) Declaration of Conformity/Declaration of Compliance issued by enterprises independently. This certificate is a self-declaration and should not be issued by a third-party agency (intermediary or testing and certification agency). Therefore, it can be replaced by the enterprise Declaration of Conformity in EU format.
(2) certificate of compliance/certificate of compliance, which is a compliance statement issued by a third-party agency (intermediary or testing certification agency). It must be accompanied by technical data such as test report TCF, and at the same time, the enterprise must sign a Declaration of Compliance.
(3) EC attitude of conformity, which is a certificate issued by the Notified Body of the European Union. According to EU regulations, only NB is qualified to issue the CE declaration of EC Type.
CE Certification-Process This process applies to all products covered by CE:
Step 1: Determine the directives and harmonization standards that the products meet
Products covered by more than 2 directives need to be labeled with CE. These instructions cover different ranges of products, and the basic requirements of the products covered are listed in the instructions. EU Harmonized Standards are detailed technical documents used to guide products to meet the basic requirements of directives.
Step 2: Determine the detailed requirements that the product should meet
You must ensure that your product meets the basic requirements of relevant EU laws. Only when the product meets the requirements of all applicable harmonized standards can it be regarded as meeting the relevant basic requirements. Whether to apply the harmonization standard is completely voluntary, and you can also choose other ways to meet the corresponding basic requirements.
Step 3: Determine whether the product needs the participation of the announcement organization
Every instruction involved in your product has detailed provisions on whether the third-party announcement organization needs to participate in the CE audit. Not all products are required to be certified by the announcement agency, so it is very important to determine whether the announcement agency really needs to participate. These announcement agencies are authorized by the European Commission and have a detailed list in the file of NANDO (new method directive announcement agency and designated agency).
Step 4: Test the product and check its compliance
It is the manufacturer's responsibility to test the product and check whether it meets the EU regulations (conformity assessment process). Risk assessment is the basic rule in the assessment process. Only after meeting the requirements of relevant EU harmonization standards can you meet the basic requirements of EU official regulations.
Step 5: Draft and save the technical documents required by the directive
The manufacturer must establish the technical documents (TCF) of the products according to the requirements of the directive and the needs of risk assessment. If required by the relevant authorized department, the manufacturer shall submit the technical documents together with the EC declaration of conformity for inspection.
step 6: affix the CE mark to your product and make an EC declaration of conformity
the ce mark must be affixed to the product by the manufacturer or its authorized representative. CE mark must be clearly and permanently affixed to the product or its nameplate according to its standard pattern. If the announcement organization participates in the product certification, the CE mark must bear the announcement number of the announcement organization. The manufacturer is obliged to draft the EC declaration of conformity and sign it to prove that the product meets the CE requirements.
after the above six steps, your products with CE logo can circulate smoothly in the European market.
UL certification
UL is short for Underwriter Laboratories Inc UL Safety Laboratory is the most authoritative institution in the United States, and it is also a large private institution engaged in safety testing and appraisal in the world. It is an independent, non-profit, professional organization that conducts experiments for public safety. It uses scientific testing methods to study and determine whether various materials, devices, products, equipment, buildings, etc. are harmful to life and property or not; Determine, compile and issue corresponding standards and materials that will help reduce and prevent the loss of life and property, and conduct fact-finding business at the same time.
Applying for UL mark for process products includes the following steps:
1. Applicant submits relevant company and product information
Written application: You should ask UL Company to test your products in writing.
company information: provide the detailed and accurate name, address, contact person, postal code, telephone number and fax number of the following units in Chinese and English.
(a). applicant company: the company that applies for product testing and is responsible for all engineering service costs

For insulation materials, please provide the name of raw materials, for example: GE Polycarbonate,Lexan Type 14. When the parts have obtained UL certification or recognition, please prove the specific model of the parts and indicate their UL file number (E). Electrical performance: For electronic and electrical products. Provide electrical schematic diagram (circuit diagram) and electrical performance table.
(f). structural drawing: for most products, the structural drawing or explosion drawing, ingredient list, etc. of the product should be provided.
(g). Photos of the product, instructions for use, safety and other items or installation instructions.
2. Make a decision based on the provided product information
When the product information is complete, UL engineers will make the following decisions based on the information: UL standard on which the experiment is based, engineering cost of the test, test time, number of samples, etc., and inform you in writing, and send the formal application form and tracking service agreement to your company. The application form indicates the cost limit, which is the maximum project cost estimated by UL according to the test items. Without the written authorization of your company, this cost limit cannot be exceeded.
3. Apply for remittance and send back the application form and sample
UL certification
The applicant signs the application form and the tracking service agreement, and sends the form back to UL Company. At the same time, send the sample by bank remittance, post office or express mail. Please give an appropriate description (such as name and model) of the sample to be inspected. Please send the application form and samples separately. For each application project, UL will assign a unique project number (Project No), and indicate the project number and the name of the application company when remitting money, sending samples and application forms, so as to facilitate UL to check.
4. product testing
after receiving the application form, remittance and experimental samples signed by your company, UL will inform you of the completion time of the experimental plan. Product testing is generally carried out in UL laboratories in the United States, and UL can also accept the audited data of participating in third-party testing. The experimental samples will be returned or destroyed according to your requirements.
if the product test resULts meet the requirements of UL standard, ul company will issue a qualified test report and FollowUp Service Procedure. the test report will detail the test situation, the indicators achieved by the sample, the product structure and the safety signs suitable for the product. Description of products and instructions for UL regional inspectors are included in the detailed rules of tracking service. A copy of the test report is sent to the applicant company, and a copy of the tracking service details is sent to each production factory.
5. The applicant is authorized to use the UL mark
The UL regional inspector in China contacts the production factory for the first factory inspection (initial production inspection. IPI). The inspector checks the storage of your products and their parts in the production line and warehouse to confirm whether the product structure and parts are consistent with the detailed rules for tracking service. If required in the detailed rules, the regional inspector will also conduct witness experiments. When the inspection results meet the requirements, the applicant is authorized to use the UL mark.
after IPI, inspectors will go to the factory irregularly to inspect the product structure and witness experiments. The frequency of inspection is determined by the product type and production. Most types of products are inspected at least four times a year. The inspector's inspection is to ensure that the products continue to meet UL requirements. Please inform UL before you plan to change the product structure or components. For minor changes, there is no need to repeat any experiments. UL can quickly modify the tracking service details so that inspectors can accept such changes. When UL thinks that the change of the product affects its safety performance, it needs to apply for the company to re-submit the sample for necessary testing.
the cost of tracking service is not included in the test fee.
if the product test resULts can't meet the requirements of UL standard, UL will inform the applicant to explain the existing problems. after the applicant improves the product design, he can re-submit the product. you shoULd tell the ul engineer what improvements have been made to the product so that he can decide that the above steps are the steps to apply for ul certification.
