On August 7, 2017, Thailand joined the Madrid System and became the 99th Madrid member state (the joining agreement officially came into effect on November 7, 2017).

On October 2, 2017, the Indonesian government submitted the country’s instrument to join the Madrid Protocol to the Director General of WIPO, becoming the 100th member of the Madrid System (the accession agreement was signed on January 2, 2018 Effective date).
