Trademarks cannot be abstract now. There are three main things to note when registering graphics for trademarks:
1. Graphics and trademark designs should not be too abstract. Overly abstract graphic trademarks not only make it difficult for people to understand and quickly identify the brand, but also easily lead to similarities with trademarks previously registered and applied for by others, which may result in trademark infringement and may result in penalties from regulatory authorities. In serious cases, we may also be held legally responsible. Therefore, when we design a graphic trademark, we must not only consider the aesthetics of the trademark, but also consider the similarity of the trademark. After the design is completed, we can conduct a trademark search before submitting a trademark registration application.
2. Graphic trademark design should not be too realistic. Graphic trademarks cannot be as realistic and complex as our real objects. This will not only reduce the artistry of the trademark, but may also encounter difficulties in daily use. For example, take some wine, medicine, and clothing trademarks. Due to the size restrictions of trademark labels and product positions, graphic trademarks that are too realistic are difficult to print, causing difficulties for consumers to identify the brand.
3. Restrictions on the use of graphic trademarks. There are certain restrictions when using pure graphic trademarks in the market. Consumers cannot directly refer to the brand after seeing the graphic, which is detrimental to the brand development of individuals or companies. Therefore, Gugugou recommends that you do not only use pure graphic trademarks when registering trademarks. Graphics can be combined with some pinyin, Chinese characters, etc. to form a combined trademark, or a separate word trademark can be registered and used together during the use of the trademark.
