Shanghai Pudong New Area. Pudong New Area is a municipal district in Shanghai. Pudong borders Fengxian and Minhang in the south, Xuhui, Huangpu, Hongkou, Yangpu and Baoshan across the Huangpu River in the west, and Chongming across the Yangtze River in the north. Datuan town, located in the southeast of Nanhui District, is one of the four major towns in Nanhui County registered in the State Council. Founded in A.D. 1568 (the second year of Qin Long in Ming Dynasty), it covers an area of 50.7 square kilometers and is located in datuan town.
