Lin Gansheng (1896-1976) was born in Centipede Mountain, Zhangzhou, Fujian.
His family was poor, and his father barely supported him in primary school when he was young. After graduating from primary school at the age of 15, he worked at home. He also studied ophthalmology with his master for 5 years. Gan Sheng was both smart and studious, and he quickly mastered medical and pharmacological medicine. Soon after completing his apprenticeship, he started his own practice as an ophthalmologist. In the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), he joined the Zhangnan guerrillas and served as an underground traffic officer. Under the cover of an ophthalmologist, he purchased items, medicines and delivered intelligence tasks for the guerrillas many times, which played a very good role in the work of the guerrillas. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China, due to betrayal by a traitor, Lin Gansheng was arrested and imprisoned by the Kuomintang. He was imprisoned in the Zhangzhou Military and Police Supervision Office. He was interrogated many times, forced to reveal the whereabouts and work conditions of the underground guerrillas, and was tortured. In the face of brutal enemies, he remained unyielding and tight-lipped. The enemy couldn't get any information and sentenced him to death. He was then taken to Xixiaochang and shot dead.
