Qingyuan Beijiang Bridge-the first LED light bridge in Guangdong Province

Completion time: 1985

Design unit: Highway Research Institute of Ministry of Communications, Guangdong Highway Engineering Office and Guangdong Highway Design Institute.

Employer: Guangdong Provincial Highway Engineering Office

Qingyuan Beijiang Bridge is located in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, 107 National Road. It is a rigid arch bridge with a span of 3x45+8x70+4x45(m), a total length of 1058.04m and a width of 12+2x2(m). It is a long, multi-span, multi-arch and long-span rigid-frame arch bridge in China. Built in 1985.

Highway Research Institute of Ministry of Communications, Guangdong Provincial Highway Engineering Office and Guangdong Provincial Highway Design Institute jointly designed and constructed. According to reports, all the bridge landscape lighting projects with a span of more than one kilometer adopt LED lights, which is the first case in our province. Due to the LED cold light irradiation system, the lighting project of the whole Beijiang Bridge consumes very little electricity, with a total power of 20 kilowatts per hour (that is, 20 degrees per hour). Compared with the power consumption of ordinary lamps, it can save the cost of lighting engineering within two years. The lighting project shows the shape and lines of the bridge by installing LED cold light irradiation system on the outer edge arch ring and pier of the cantilever of the bridge sidewalk. The whole lighting project of the old and new bridges cost 2.75 million yuan. After the old bridge is fully completed and commissioned, the Beijiang Bridge will be colorful, changing colors every day, or reflecting the festive atmosphere by constantly changing colors. Seen from a distance, the lighted Beijiang Bridge sets off the banks of Beijiang River more beautifully.
