if the applicant is not resident or established in Japan, he must entrust a local special agent to handle it. The basic materials required for trademark application are:
① trademark pattern;
②. Categories and specific commodity items;
③ Name and address of the applicant;
④ If the priority is declared, the priority certificate and Japanese translation shall be provided.
Note:
1. Japan adopts the description of goods and services in the 11th edition of Nice Classification, but some goods and services in Nice Classification are not acceptable in Japan. Japan has its own local classification groups. If the goods specified in the application exceed 22 groups in the local classification table, the official will ask the applicant to provide business plan or use evidence.
2. Japan has a corresponding code for each applicant. Applicants should check whether they have applied for a trademark in Japan before applying. If so, it is recommended to use the same applicant's name and address to avoid rejection due to inconsistent addresses.
