I was fortunate enough to visit Layisu Village in 2020. Layisu Village is located in Yutian County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang. After an inspection by the World Natural Society in 2004, it was known as one of the longevity villages in the world. , the number of long-lived elderly people here is one of the highest in the country.

Layisu Village is located in the Taklimakan Desert. The environment is relatively harsh, but there are so many long-lived elderly people. This has a great relationship with the eating habits, living habits, and good mentality of the elderly in the village. Drinking The water is Laisu Holy Spring water, which is formed from the melted snow water of Kunlun Mountain and is rich in many trace elements. What they eat are natural and simple foods such as red dates, walnuts, grapes, rose jam, naan, noodle soup and rice. In addition, the elderly have an optimistic attitude and a regular life schedule, so it is normal for the elderly here to live long.

According to local villagers, before 2018, the per capita cultivated land area in Layisu Village was small, the planting structure was single, the per capita annual income was less than 3,000 yuan, and the village's infrastructure was not perfect. The current Layisu Village is managed by the 225th Regiment of the 14th Division. It builds roads and houses, improves supporting facilities, promotes the construction of a beautiful countryside, and greatly improves the lives of the villagers. Now Layisu Village has transformed into a butterfly, with rows of new houses, spacious roads, and restaurants with different characteristics. The construction is very beautiful.
