The cost price of compound mutton rolls is only half or even less than 20% of the price of qualified mutton rolls. At present, most compound mutton rolls on the market are basically made of pork and duck. However, because unscrupulous traders pursue the edible effect of compound meat rolls, relying on the smell of sheep oil to confuse the real with the real, adding mutton essence at will poses a threat to consumers' life and health, and there are serious food safety hazards. The reasons for compound mutton rolls are as follows:
1, the cost of mutton is high and mutton is out of stock.
Because of its high nutritional value, mutton is deeply loved by urban and rural residents in China, and its consumption is growing rapidly. The price of mutton has risen to varying degrees all over the country. Due to the continuous increase of labor costs, the number of manufacturers in mutton roll production and processing enterprises is also decreasing, which leads to the overall market demand exceeding supply.
2, it is not easy to identify, and the profit margin is large.
The price of mutton in the market is rising, and the price of beef and pork is much cheaper than that of mutton. Most manufacturers use leftover bits and pieces of mother pork, beef or fat pork for processing, and even some unscrupulous merchants make adulterated mutton with sick and dead pork, and then brush sheep oil on the surface of the meat, so that the adulterated mutton gives off the unique flavor of mutton, thus deceiving consumers.
3. The relevant standards are not perfect.
There are no strict standards for products such as "compound mutton rolls" in China, but many enterprise standards approved by provincial health administrative departments allow beef, pork, duck and mutton to be mixed to make so-called "mutton rolls", "hot pot rolls", "lean meat rolls" and "refined meat rolls". Without the word "sheep", manufacturers will make these "mixed meat rolls". Finally, labels such as "Inner Mongolia Mutton", "Grassland Mutton", "Pure Mutton Slice" or "Fine Instant Mutton" are added to the finished product, so as to confuse the fish, and achieve the purpose of shoddy and confusing the fake with the real. Not only consumers, but also some catering enterprises find it difficult to distinguish between true and false.
