Jianyang Zhangdun Xiaobai Tea is a white tea originating from Zhangdun Town, Jianyang City, Fujian Province. The history of this tea can be traced back to the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522-1566). At that time, tea farmers in Zhangdun Town produced white tea through natural fermentation and drying, which was mainly supplied to the royal family and nobles in Fujian Province.
With the passage of time, Zhangdun white tea has gradually become a famous tea variety in Fujian Province and surrounding areas. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795), Zhangdun white tea was added to the royal tribute list. From the 1950s to the 1960s, after further research and improvement, the quality of Zhangdun white tea was gradually improved and it was designated as a national first-class tea.
Today, Jianyang Zhangdun small white tea is still one of the representative teas of Fujian Province and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.
