Although you may think that introducing the modeling of a bottle is too trivial, it is easy to overlook some things that can improve the visibility of your work. Technique details. In this tutorial I'm going to show you some of these little tricks that can help improve your Maya modeling process.

We divided this bottle into 3 major parts (Top - Middle - Bottom) to make it easier to handle modeling each part and decide which method you are going to use next.

Step 1: In the first step we will set up the reference image.

Make sure your reference image has a negative value on the X-axis in the view, otherwise it will obscure our model.

Step 2: Modeling of the middle part

For the modeling of the middle part, use a simple EP curve tool to create the outline of half the bottle and place the center point of the outline into the future. center of the bottle.

Next select "Surfaces Revolve", using the default options, we will get a simple shape.

We need to convert NURBS to polygons, go to the Modify menu, Convert -gt; "NURBS to Polygons Options"

Step 3: Modeling of the top

Step 4: Model the bottom.

There are many ways to make the bottom of a Coke bottle, here I will talk about one:

Make a simple POLY sphere

Radius: 7.5321

Subdivisions Axis: 20

Subdivision Height: 8

Make sure the radius of the sphere is as close as possible to the radius of the middle of the Coke bottle, don't worry they won't be accurate Matching, in the later process, we will slowly merge them, and notice that their subdivision levels are not the same. We will add and delete some edges to make the middle and bottom match.

Use "Select -gt; Select Edge Loop Tool" to add a loop in the middle of the bottom sphere, so that we delete the upper part of the sphere.

Select all the vertices at the bottom of the sphere, at "Y". Extrude the axis to the same plane.

Press the "3" key to preview the smooth effect.

Next, add a new line at the bottom to give those that will not. Give the polygons where the extrusion occurs a red material (select these faces and assign a red material ball in Hypershade) so that they will not be confused later.

Step 5 - Connect the parts

First, we merge the two sides of the middle part

Now, merge the middle part and the bottom. I mentioned the details of the middle and bottom. The number of segments does not match. We need to add several new edges to the middle part to match the number of subdivisions at the bottom, and delete the unmatched edges.

The subdivisions of the two parts have been matched. Join the two parts and squeeze them inward where they join.

Name the new object "Bottle"

Add additional details in the middle. In this step, we will add more details to the middle part of the Coke bottle you normally hold in your hand. Simply adjust the points and create a basic groove by pressing the surface. You want four grooves here.

Step 7: Assemble everything

In this step, merge all the points outside the bottle cap’s texture and name the newly created object. Why not merge the texture on the bottle cap together? Woolen cloth? They will produce unwanted or bad effects when smoothing. Finalizes all previous history of the merged object.

Step 10: Set UV in PS

Change the "UV Reference" layer to "Overlay

Now we need to collect some pictures to draw the "Coca-Cola" logo and some little dots on the bottle
