I want to ask the master how you should worship the Buddha statue.
Fotai and Shangxiang

If conditions permit, it is best to worship a Buddhist platform at home and invite a Guanyin bodhisattva.

1, basic decoration requirements of Fotai:

Don't go near the toilet (the toilet at home should be closed at ordinary times)

Not in the kitchen.

Can't put it on TV, refrigerator, etc. , directly below the air conditioner. If you are close to the TV or the environment is complicated, you can make a cabinet with wooden doors. Close the cupboard door when not burning incense, and don't turn on the TV when burning incense. However, the Buddha statue cannot be covered with a glass cover.

Can not be used in the couple's bedroom (except for the elderly couple's room).

A single bedroom can be consecrated, but the end of the bed can't face the Buddha platform.

Can't be used on the balcony protruding from the foundation, if it is an indoor balcony.

Any Buddha and Bodhisattva statue, including incense burners and oil lamps, can't be hung, but must be supported by ground objects such as tables, cabinets and racks.

Bodhisattva is best located in a bright place near the window, but not with his back to the glass window, and his back must be against the wall. There should be no mirrors around the Buddha's platform.

Don't put sundries or other books under the Buddha's platform. Generally, you can put scriptures and instruments.

The platform of the Buddha statue should not be too low or too high, and it is the position where people stand and look up slightly (if it is too low, you can pad the Buddha statue with a more elegant and solemn box).

There are oil lamps (frequent oiling will make people's eyes better) and water (several buddhas and bodhisattvas need several glasses of water, and the water should be changed once a day, so you can't touch the cups with your own mouths).

To have an incense burner, give incense once a day in the morning and evening, preferably at a fixed time, usually at 6: 00, 8: 00 or 10 in the morning.

There shouldn't be too many buddhas and bodhisattvas in the Buddhist altar.

Fresh fruits (which can make your dreams come true as soon as possible) and flowers (which make people more beautiful) depend on your own conditions. Fruits and flowers are usually replaced within one week.

The location of the Buddhist altar is best to sit south facing north (southern hemisphere) and north facing south (northern hemisphere). If conditions do not permit, other directions are also possible.

2. Fruit:

It is best to provide fragrant fruits. Such as apple, orange, mango, pineapple and watermelon.

Bananas and peaches are not suitable for offering sacrifices to buddhas and bodhisattvas.

The number of fruits dedicated to buddhas and bodhisattvas should be odd. But the arrangement of each layer should be singular, not the total number is singular.

If four apples are provided, the upper layer is one and the lower layer is three, that is, each layer is odd.

The number of discs is irrelevant.

3. Flowers:

It is good to offer sacrifices to bodhisattvas, rich and precious bamboo.

Chrysanthemum, lily, orchid, daffodil, etc. Can be dedicated to buddhas and bodhisattvas. Roses with thorns are not suitable for Buddhist pagodas.

Flowers dedicated to buddhas and bodhisattvas can be judged by their names. Such as peach blossoms and morning glory, cannot be enshrined.

In addition, do not provide potted plants with soil on the main stage.

4. Oil supply:

If there is more than one bodhisattva to worship, it is best for each bodhisattva to have an oil lamp if possible; If there are no conditions, you can also offer a pair of oil lamps or an oil lamp to the whole Buddhist platform.

If you worship a Buddha and Bodhisattva, you can worship a Buddha lamp or put two Buddha lamps.

Candles may not be supplied, and if they are supplied, it is better to have two pairs of red ones, or they may not be supplied.

Oil lamps and candles can be put out after knocking on the head or before the incense is burned out. Don't just burn candles without offering incense, which is easy to be spiritual.

Lotus lanterns or candle lanterns can be used, but only if there are real Buddha lanterns and candles, and it can't be 24 hours. Under normal circumstances, you can turn it on when kowtowing, and turn off the lotus lamp and candle lamp before the incense burns out.

Before burning incense, put out candles, oil lamps and electric lights. Oil lamps and candles can only be covered, not blown by mouth.

Turning on lotus lanterns or candle lamps for a long time is easy to arouse spirituality.

Sacrificing Buddha and Bodhisattva with plain oil can make people hear and see clearly, and at the same time increase their wisdom.

Generally, you can use vegetable oils such as olive oil, rapeseed oil, corn oil and lotus oil to worship Buddha and Bodhisattva.

However, sesame oil or peanut oil should not be used as the oil placed at the midpoint of the oil lamp. The scented oil is impure, and the smell of sandalwood will be covered up, so it is not suitable for bodhisattva; Soybean oil is too strong to ignite easily and is not suitable.

A whole bottle of oil (packaged with a trademark) of Buddha and Bodhisattva is also considered as oil supply.

But the best way is to light an oil lamp and refuel the oil bottle of the oil lamp, and it needs to be refueled from time to time, such as adding a little oil every day, just like changing fresh fruit and water.

Attention should be paid to the above oil supply methods. Oil that has been supplied to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas should not be used for cook the meat cuisine. We can eat the fruit and water offered to buddhas and bodhisattvas. However, we don't drink oil directly, but we need cooking. We can burn vegetarian dishes with the oil used by Bodhisattva.

Supply oil in public places. For example, in Kannonji, Dongfang Station, you can pour your oil into an oil lamp and take the rest home for other food.
