Four nights and six days trip to Kandooma Island
(Hope it can give some information to friends who want to go to Kandooma in the near future)
1. Travel time: May 29 At 14:40 on the same day, the flight from Sri Lanka passed through Bangkok (you need to wait on the plane for about 1 hour → Colombo (transfer here, stay for about 3 hours, and cannot leave the airport) → arrive at the Maldives International Airport about 1.5 hours after boarding) < /p>
2. Accommodation: I feel that the hotel is very user-friendly. The architecture and interior on the island are all in a simple style, like IKEA.
Because it was a honeymoon trip, we stayed in a water view room, No. 62, haha... At that time, except for No. 60, who was Japanese, everyone seemed to be Chinese.
1. Multi-purpose plugs: The hotel room has 2 spare plugs, which are basically enough.
2. After applying for international roaming, you can call home from the hotel for about 6 yuan/minute.
3. The room has wireless broadband, free for 3 days. Just ask the front desk for your login ID and password when checking in. There is a library on the second floor of the hotel lobby and you can also access the Internet.
4. Check out time is usually before 12 noon, but can be extended to 2 pm. On the return trip, leave the luggage outside the room and a waiter will transport it to the boat.
5. The hotel has a map of the island that you can pick up, and provides free mailing service for four postcards. You can ask the hotel to help mail them when you check out.
6. Regarding tipping: airport greeters, front desk receptionists, after-dinner waiters, room cleaners, courtesy porters
7. Coffee and tea at the mini bar in the room are free Yes, there are big blue bags in the room that can be used for free
8. We ordered a half-board meal, breakfast + dinner, because considering that we may play outside at noon, we may not be able to eat It was lunch, so I didn’t make a reservation. You really made the right choice. Breakfast and dinner are all buffet style, including Western food, Indonesian and local food. The fried eggs, boiled eggs, and porridge for breakfast are similar to Chinese food, except that the rice is not very tasty. There’s bacon to eat too. The local pineapples and mangoes are very delicious, be sure to try them.
9. All activities in the water sport center need to be booked one day in advance, and are all at your own expense: We were recommended by others and played sunset cruise, night fish and snorkeling, and it felt like It was all good. I saw dolphins, caught a lot of beautiful fish, and went to two beautiful, quiet islands. Please note that in addition to the project fee, do not charge a certain service fee. Snacks and drinks will be prepared on the boat. After the end, you need to pay the waiter 1-2 dollars. The staff at the service center are very enthusiastic. The team leader is called Dongbei and he always gives us water. And Coke, haha... I'm a little embarrassed!
10. Snorkeling masks, snorkels and flippers are free for use in the aquatic center. We bought a mask and a straw from Decathlon before going there. If you don’t want to use a public snorkel, you can consider buying a set from Decathlon. We bought the snorkel for 89 yuan, but actually the one for 29 yuan is enough.
11. The fish caught in night fish can be processed and eaten at BBQ for 3dollars per 100g.
12. Snorkeling, you can see many colorful fish, which is very interesting. For safety reasons, the staff will let you swim in the swimming pool before going. I can't swim myself, so I spent 15 dollars on some simple training. When you actually float, you will put on a life jacket and the staff will follow you, no problem.
13. You can watch the sunrise around 5 o'clock in the morning. Starting from the second day after you check in, you will receive self-made news tabloids on the island. Food, accommodation, and transportation are all in advance.
14. The local spa is very famous, but we didn’t go because of time constraints, which is a pity! But I will still consider going to this island next year.
15. There are two conversion plugs in the room, six fresh oranges every day, and the water is changed and cleaned in the morning and evening. Remember to leave a 1 yuan tip on the table every day, otherwise there will be no water at night. There are enough hangers, two large bath towels, enough toilet paper, two life jackets, two bathrobes, two pairs of slippers, a weighing scale, and an extra large bag. If you have flippers, it's no problem. Sewing kit, cotton wool, safety pins, hair dryer, safe... in short, daily necessities are basically complete.
The bathroom is fully equipped with everything except toothpaste, toothbrush, and sunscreen.
16. If you are traveling on your honeymoon, the hotel will prepare greeting cards, chocolates and champagne.
3. Things you need to bring:
1. Passport, marriage certificate, insurance card, hotel reservation form, air ticket information and their copies;
2. Necessary medicines: Bupleurum, berberine, Fengyoujing, mosquito repellent, tourniquet, cold medicine, anti-inflammatory medicine, electronic thermometer, band-aid, Baifu Ning, etc.
3. Sunhat, sunglasses, electronic dictionary (for friends who are not good at English, remember to bring it, the dictionary we brought was of great use), a favorite book, CD (there is one in the room Chargers for Philips stereos and iPods), card readers, computers, cameras, discs, AA batteries, tripods, toothpaste, toothbrushes
4. Four to five hundred US dollars in cash, be sure to have more Prepare some one-dollar dollars for tips. Although you can change them in the hotel lobby, you won't be able to change them much. If you stay for a long time, they won't be enough.
5. Important contact numbers: phone number of the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives, commonly used local phone numbers in the Maldives, and commonly used domestic phone numbers
6. Sunscreen, napkins, wet wipes, combs, and after-sun repair masks , lip balm, eye drops, cotton pads
7. You can bring your own snacks: instant noodles, beef jerky, dried tofu, candies, chocolate, biscuits, fish fillets, mustard and other things that are easy to store in the room. There is a refrigerator and a hot water kettle for making noodles.
4. Transfer in Sri Lanka:
1. Meals are provided on every flight, but when we transferred in Colombo, we didn’t eat until after 22:00 Beijing time.
2. Colombo is 2 hours behind Beijing; Maldives is 3 hours behind Beijing.
3. If you go shopping in duty-free shops, there is nothing to buy in Colombo. We went shopping in Male before coming back. The hotel arranged a tour guide for me in Male, who took us to taste local food and buy some special souvenirs. It's actually much cheaper than the airport duty-free shop.
5. Arrival in the Maldives:
1. The local currency of the Maldives is rufiyaa, basically usd1 = 12.75Rf, the US dollar is universal, and there is no need to exchange for local currency.
2. We arrived at the airport at 1 am local time, and someone happened to be picking us up from the hotel. After gathering enough for six people, we took a motorboat to Kandooma in about 40 minutes.
3. For the ferry service from the airport to Male, Dhoni leaves every ten minutes. Very convenient. When Chick out, you can choose to take an earlier speedboat to the airport and then go shopping in Male, the capital. There is luggage storage at the airport, and the fee is US$3 per bag. Going to Male costs USD1/person. Not long after the boat sails, conductors will come over to collect fees one by one.
4. Places selling tourist souvenirs may charge U.S. dollars, and you can also make counter-offers.
5. When entering Maldives customs, fill out three forms: disembarkation card/arrival car entry card; embarkation card/departure card exit card; health information health certificate. The exit card must be handed over to the customs on the return trip, so Keep it well.
6. Places to visit in Male:
1. Sultan Park (Friday Grand Mosque or Mukalu-Mikk Temple): Strolling around Sultan Park is very exciting. Pleasant things. Here you can admire the white Islamic center and the largest mosque in the Maldives - the Friday Grand Mosque. The magnificent dome of the Grand Mosque is a beautiful sight in Male (there are nearly 20 mosques in Male, varying in size). But please note that you cannot wear shoes when going up the white steps, and you must wash your feet. Both men and women are required to wear long clothes and long trousers.
2. Mukalu-Misk Temple, the oldest local Muslim temple, is a place worth visiting. The exquisite stone carvings here are very famous. There is a stone plate carved in the 13th century, which was carved to commemorate the introduction of Islam to the Maldives. Outside the temple there is the cemetery where Abu Balakat is buried and the tombstone of the former Sultan. Mosque, built in 1667.
3. National Museum, which displays some exhibits about Sudan and Thor Heyerdahl's explorations and archaeological discoveries.
4. the Presidential Palace
5. Shopping Singapore Market: This is a shopping market that brings together many merchants. There are a wide range of high-end handicrafts and various local Maldivian goods and souvenirs, making it a must-see and shopping destination for tourists. There are also a number of stores selling household items as well as water sports equipment, fishing equipment and general groceries catering to villagers in nearby villages. When tired from walking, tourists can rest and chat in the small teahouse here while enjoying some refreshments.
6. Islamic Center;
7. Local market/fish market;
The whole city is very small, with many motorcycles, driving on the left, and driving well. Soon, everyone must pay attention to safety.
We participated in a travel agency's independent tour, which cost 10,000 yuan per person. After arriving, the two of us paid a deposit of 200dolla, and some was refunded when we checked out. Haha, it is really a beautiful place worth visiting. Before coming back, I spent 175 dollars shopping at Male, and bought some things at duty-free shops at Beijing Airport and Sri Lanka Airport. Basically, there was no expense.
Finally, I wish everyone a happy trip!
