In 1960s, Premier Zhou Enlai visited meijiawu for many times to guide the tea industry and made it a designated tourist area for foreign guests. Meijiawu has become one of the core production areas of the new West Lake Longjing, and "Lu" is the representative brand of the West Lake Longjing in meijiawu.
