What do you think of the motor nameplate?
The motor nameplate usually includes the following information:

Motor model: for example, Y 160M2-4, where y stands for three-phase asynchronous motor, 160 stands for frame number (i.e. motor shell diameter or iron core size), m stands for medium-speed motor (including high-speed, low-speed and medium-speed), and 2 stands for motor pole number (i.e. motor speed divided by 2-pole motor speed, which is generally 3000 rpm).

Rated power: indicates the maximum output power of the motor under rated voltage and rated current for a long time, and the unit is kW.

Rated voltage: the highest voltage of the motor at rated power, in volts (V).

Rated current: the maximum current of the motor at rated power, in ampere (A).

Rated frequency: the power frequency of the motor at rated power, in hertz (Hz).

Rated speed: the highest speed of the motor at rated power, in rpm (r/min).

Insulation grade: indicates the heat resistance grade of motor winding insulation materials, generally including grades A, E, B, F, H and so on.

Temperature rise: indicates the maximum allowable temperature of the winding when the motor works at rated power, and the unit is Celsius (℃).

Manufacturer information: including manufacturer's name, trademark, address and other information.

The above information can help us understand the specifications, performance and use requirements of the motor. When reading the motor nameplate, you should pay attention to the following points:

Confirm whether the motor model and rated power meet the actual demand.

Pay attention to whether the rated voltage and rated current of the motor meet the power supply requirements.

Pay attention to whether the insulation grade and temperature rise of the motor meet the safety requirements.

Pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions and precautions.
