5. Formal review: After receiving the trademark registration application, the Trademark Office will first conduct a formal review. The formal review is mainly divided into three parts: review of application documents (whether the documents are complete, whether the filling is standardized, whether the signature is missing), review of trademark drawing specifications, clear procedures and necessary instructions, and classification review (review of filling in the trademark name/service items ). Then, based on the formal examination results, the Trademark Office mainly issues three types of notices: notice of acceptance, notice of correction, and notice of rejection. Due to the internal adjustment of the Trademark Office, it currently takes 4-6 months, and the formal review after the adjustment will take 3-4 months.

6. Substantive examination: Substantive examination is an examination of whether the trademark applied for registration meets the registration conditions. After passing the examination at this stage, the Trademark Office will issue a notice of preliminary examination; if the application fails the preliminary examination, the Trademark Office will issue a notice of rejection. Including the time spent on formal review, this stage takes about 9 months. This is the stage that takes the most time to register a trademark.

7. Preliminary Examination Announcement: After the trademark applied for registration has passed the preliminary review, the Trademark Office will conduct a preliminary review of the Trademark Law and make an announcement, which is called the "Preliminary Examination Announcement". This stage takes three months, and the time is fixed.

8. Certificate issuance: If all processes are normal and there are no rejections or objections to the trademark, the Trademark Office will approve the registration and prepare to issue a trademark certificate. This stage is usually around 2-4 months.
