Not eating for a day is no big deal. If you don't eat for a few days, you will starve to death. If you are worried about starving to death, you can eat all the eggs you have at home. Hedgehogs are slow moving and usually come out during the day and night. Hedgehogs like to make sunken holes, hide in their nests during the day, and come out to snore after dusk. Hedgehogs are omnivores of insects and caterpillars, snails, bird eggs, mushrooms, grass roots, nuts, melons, snakes, etc. They can eat 200 grams of bugs in one night, and a mature hedgehog can eat an average of 40 grams of food per meal. Hedgehogs are very sensitive to lactose and cannot be fed dairy products.
The investigation report was recently published in the Journal of Zoology. A particular sample has not moved for 7 consecutive years but is still alive. Salamander (also known as Meng's salamander, scientific name: Proteus? anguinus) is an amphibian. Inhabiting underground veins in the limestone caves of the Dinaglia Alps, it stretches from the Lisonzo River Basin near Trieste, Italy, through southern Slovenia, southwestern Croatia, and as far away as Hercekovica. This is the only species of salamander. Furthermore, it is the only creature in Europe that belongs to the family Salamanderidae and the only inchworm in Europe that digs oysters.
The salamander has a snake-like slender body, usually 20 to 30 centimeters in length, but some individuals can reach 40 centimeters in length [2]. Its trunk is cylindrical and roughly uniform in thickness. At each eradicated border, uniformly spaced wrinkles divide the body into segments. Its tail is relatively short and flat, surrounded by thin fins. The limbs are slender, with three fingers on the front legs and two fingers on the hind legs; it breathes with gills and lungs.
The most striking feature of this animal is the various adaptations it has made to adapt to life in the darkness of caves. For example, the degenerated eyes are hidden under the skin and cannot be seen, but other senses, especially smell and hearing, become more sensitive to compensate for the shortcomings of vision. Additionally, the axolotl's skin lacks pigment, and its gills are white except for those that exist throughout its lifetime. (For example: when raised in the sun for several months, the eyes and skin are gray at first, and then turn black.) Not only the breeding period, but also other periods of the axolotl's life are spent completely in the water [3]. This is very different from other amphibians. This may be related to the characteristics of the larvae, such as the exposed gills of the larvae, which may remain until adulthood.
Animals can usually survive for about one week to ten days without eating or drinking, which is determined by their genes. Different from animals, animals generally live in harsh environments, so water and food resources are generally insufficient, and food supplies are not available. They often have a full meal, and their ability to adapt to hunger is much longer than humans' ability to endure hunger.
