Ejiao was named after its earliest birth in ancient Dong 'e (now Dong 'e Town, Pingyin County). The earliest existing pharmacological monograph in China, Shennong Materia Medica Classic, listed Ejiao as "top grade", and Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica in Ming Dynasty recorded: "Ejiao Materia Medica Classic is the top grade. Hongjing said, "Out of East Afghanistan, it is called Ejiao". According to historical records, Li Shizhen was born in 15 18 and died in 1593. Dong 'e Town is the county seat of Dong 'e from 1375 to 1946. Dong 'e in Li Shizhen era refers to Dong 'e County with Dong 'e Town as its county seat, so Dong 'e Town in Pingyin County is the authentic origin of Ejiao. There is also an ancient folk song circulating here, "Little black donkey, white belly, pink nose, pink eyes, pink hooves, eating grass on the lion's ear mountain, drinking water in the langxi River, Yongji Bridge walking three times, Weijiachang rolling, slaughtering its skin in winter, and making glue still needs yin and yang water." In the process of making glue, we can only burn Sang Mu and chop wood with a golden pot and silver shovel, and it will take 7749 days to make glue. According to records, in the second year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (969), Ejiao workshops began to appear in Dong 'e Town. In the Qing dynasty, many Chinese medicine practitioners from the north and the south came here to diagnose diseases and deal in Ejiao. At that time, there were many large rubber workshops 10, such as Deng Shude Hall, Tu Huaide Hall, Yu Tiande Hall, Wang Jingchun Hall and Chen Dongyue Heng Pharmacy. During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, Ye Henala, the favorite princess of the emperor, suffered from anemia, that is, habitual abortion, which was ineffective after treatment by physicians. She took Ejiao from Deng Shudetang, cured anemia, and was happy when she got sick, which was the later Tongzhi emperor. Emperor Xianfeng was overjoyed and named the princess Yi Guifei, the Empress Dowager Cixi who later ruled China for more than half a century. At the same time, three gifts were given to Deng Shudetang: one was given to Deng Fa Real Madrid, the boss of Deng Shudetang; The second is to give a passbook to Deng, the owner of Deng's Shude Hall (equivalent to a pass to enter and leave the palace); The third is to "bless" Deng Shudetang Ejiao. In the tenth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (187 1), the imperial court sent an imperial envoy to Shudetang to supervise Ejiao, which was called "Jiutian tribute glue". The word "Fu" has always been used by glue makers in Dong 'e Town, becoming the symbol of authentic Ejiao. In the early years of the Republic of China, old Ejiao pharmacies such as Gan Yutai, Huairentang, Jishengzhai and Huafengdong were established one after another. 1933, Tiandetang invested 3,300 yuan (silver), with an annual output of 200 kg of Ejiao and an output value of 2,400 yuan, which was sold to Shanxi, Shaanxi and other places; Shudetang has a capital of 2 100 yuan, with an annual output of 200 kilograms of Ejiao and an output value of 2,400 yuan. Most of the products are sold to Jiangnan. Huaidetang Fund 1.300 yuan, with an annual output of 200 kilograms of Ejiao, with an output value of 2,400 yuan, mainly sold to Jiangnan, and some products are sold abroad; Gan Yutai, Huairentang, Jishengzhai and Huafengdong have a capital of 8,500 yuan, with an annual output of 750 kilograms of Ejiao and an output value of 9,400 yuan. Products are mainly sold to Wuxi, Changzhou, Hebei and Northeast China. 1935, Shudetang has a 10 rubber workshop with 5 technicians, with an annual output of about 750kg of Ejiao. From 65438 to 0949, the total output of Ejiao in Dong 'e Town was 5000 kg. The main products are donkey-hide gelatin, donkey-hide gelatin, donkey-hide gelatin, donkey-hide gelatin, Jiutian tribute gelatin, saffron gelatin, tortoise plastron gelatin, white gelatin, supernatant gelatin and yellow gelatin. At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the state funded the integration of the old Ejiao brands in Dong 'e Town, such as Deng's Shudetang, Tu's Huaidetang and Zhuang's Taizi Henglao Drugstore, and established the first state-owned Ejiao processing factory in Dong 'e Town, Pingyin County, Shandong Province, and accepted the gelatin-making technology of Dong 'e Town's Ejiao workshop, including the "hand folding" of Deng's Shudetang and the "Fu" logo used on Ejiao. By the end of 1970s, the trademark "Fu" was registered by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and became a special trademark. In 2003, Dong 'e Town of Pingyin County was designated as "Ejiao Origin Protection Zone" by National Medical Products Administration.
