Lego was invented by Ole Keok.
The inventor of Lego bricks is Ole Kirk Christiansen, who was born in 1891 in the village of Felsgov near Billund, Denmark. He has superb carpentry skills and was keen on making various small toys when he was young. The small airplanes, cars and animals that he made are all lifelike and lifelike. Although he didn't know how to do business and his toys were often unsaleable, this did not make him give up his hobby. Later, the puzzle toy "Yue Yue" he designed finally became popular. In 1934, he designed the "LEGO" trademark for his building block toys.
History
The LEGO Group is the fourth largest toy manufacturer in the world. It is privately held and has more than 5,000 employees worldwide. Some 150 designers from 18 countries design different components for all LEGO sets. These series are sold to more than 130 countries.
It was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen in Billund, Denmark, but at the beginning, the company was just a small family business. Christiansen makes wooden utensils, including ladders and toys. His company continued to make wooden toys until a fire destroyed his wooden toy warehouse in 1960.
In 1934, he named the company "LEGO", which is the abbreviation of the Danish "leg godt", which means "fun".
Lego began making plastic toys in 1947 and was the first company in Denmark to use plastic injection molding machines. By 1951, plastic toys accounted for half of the company's exports. The company continued to improve the design between 1949 and 1958, but the basic building blocks have remained the same since 1958.
