aiming at the basket
where is the aiming point when shooting? Your eyes should be fixed on the back edge of the hoop. When you look at this, you can throw it into the net. Many coaches teach players to aim at the front edge of the basket, so you have to throw farther than aiming at the basket. You should shoot at the basket every time, just like a god pitcher.
Stand
Whether it's a free throw or a jump shot, are you standing correctly? If you shoot with your right hand, your right foot should point directly to the center of the hoop. In the case of free throw, the right foot should be placed at the midpoint of the free throw line, slightly in front of the left foot. The most important thing is to feel comfortable standing. Remember, what you want to cultivate is stability, which comes from habit and from feeling comfortable and natural.
Hold the ball
Be careful when holding the ball. Touch the ball with your fingers and palm roots, and the palm of your hand is not allowed to touch the ball. There should be a gap between the ball and the hand, so as to feel soft. Control the ball with your fingers, not too tight.
knees
I advocate bending your knees a little when making free throws. Like other shots, the knee joint must be stable and consistent. The basic premise is that the simpler the shot, the smaller the action, and the better the chance of getting a consistent and stable shot.
the follow-up action of the ball and the backhand
the shot should be soft and smooth, and don't use force suddenly, otherwise the ball will leave the hand too fast, and the hit rate will drop. To soften the net, the ball should be shot from the finger end and naturally leave the finger. If the ball touches the palm of your hand, it can't gently touch the hoop.
Arc
If the ball touches the rim and bounces back, it tells you that the shooting is not peaceful, that is, the arc is not enough. The lack of curvature prevents the ball from touching the rim softly. When making a free throw, the highest point of the arc should be 3-4 feet (about 1 meter) on the rim. The farther you throw, the higher the arc will be.
eye gaze (after the ball is released)
Do your eyes follow the flight curve of the ball? This is a common problem. Don't focus on the ball's flight-it is easy for the pitcher to miss the target before the ball is shot, which will affect the hit rate.
the rotation of the ball
is the same as the radian, and the rotation of the ball depends on the distance between the ball and the hoop. The ball around the free throw line should be rotated for a week and a half before reaching the rim. If there is no proper backspin, the ball will hit the rim and go out without falling into the net.
Self-confidence
Proper practice brings success, which gives people confidence, and self-confidence makes you believe in the effect of practice and continue to practice. This is a wonderful cycle. Most excellent pitchers have a clear idea before they throw. Stand in front of the free throw line with confidence.
