After the death of President Mao Zedong, the production of special cigarettes did not stop. Due to the need of foreign affairs, Beijing Cigarette Factory undertook this special task.
In the early 1980s, Beijing Cigarette Factory negotiated trademark registration with Zhongnanhai Security Bureau. After successful registration, Beijing Cigarette Factory named the cigarette presented to President Mao Zedong Zhongnanhai, which changed its old appearance. The trademark keeps the traditional artistic style of China in pattern design, with a bright red background supplemented by gold, which shows the festive and auspicious characteristics of the Chinese nation. In particular, the word "Zhongnanhai" written by Mao Zedong as a trademark is the essence of ancient China culture.
Zhongnanhai cigarette label printed with exquisite red coated paper reminds people of that fiery history. Zhongnanhai is a special kind of cigarette on occasions such as the 13th and 14th National Congress, the Asian Games, the 45th National Day celebrations and entertaining foreign guests.
