Yu Xinlong and his "Robot Base"

Yu Xinlong is a student at Harbin Engineering University, majoring in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation. Opportunities for research and development, and his own robot company also has plans.

Yu Xinlong is very interested in electronic research and loves to make small things in his spare time. In 2012, he participated in the China Robot Competition and RoboCup China Open. Through the competition, he saw the potential market in the robot industry and became passionate about developing robots. In May 2012, Yu Xinlong's first product was released - a robot controller. The controller is the core of the robot, equivalent to the brain of the robot. After completing it, he put the product on the Internet for sale, and soon he sold his first controller for a few hundred yuan. In the eyes of others, a college student using his spare time to make a product and selling it at a pretty good price, but he feels that every small part, from research and development, component selection to soldering circuit boards, to later functional debugging, is A labor of love, the actual hard work is much heavier than the price.

In the second semester of my junior year, in order to prepare for graduate school, the research and development of robots was put on hold for a while. After he decided to go to graduate school, he resumed his old career and continued the research and development of robots.

In May 2012, Harbin Engineering University organized a scientific and technological achievements transformation meeting, and Yu Xinlong participated with his work "Spider-like Crawling Robot". The Youth League Committee of the school recommended Yu Xinlong’s project to the National University Science and Technology Park of Harbin Engineering University. After some exchanges, the Science and Technology Park felt that Yu Xinlong’s project was very marketable and had a lot of room for development. Considering that R&D requires a relatively quiet environment , they provided office space for Yu Xinlong’s team. At this time, the Harbin Engineering University Student Entrepreneurship Alliance was established, and Yu Xinlong's robot company became the first subsidiaries of the alliance. The company's products also developed from a single controller to the development of sensors, drivers, communication modules, and robot parts. and many other products.

The Youth League Committee found a professional teacher to guide him and apply for a formal business license. There are roughly 15 procedures for registering a company. Yu Xinlong said that he ran through them one by one and was busy for more than two months. On October 28, the company's business license was finally issued. Yu Xinlong's "Harbin Aosong Robot Technology Co., Ltd." come out. They spent a week designing a special logo, and the final logo has a profound meaning: the half gear represents machinery, and the lightning inside represents electronics. The spark above the lightning is the Olympic fire, which means the combination of machinery and electronics, mechatronics. The product is the robot. Now, Yu Xinlong's company is not only a formal enterprise of the Harbin Engineering University National University Science and Technology Park College Student Entrepreneurship Base, but also the first company officially registered and operated by Harbin Engineering University students.

Yu Xinlong’s company has an official website and promotes the company through the Internet. The main market is universities and scientific research institutes. It sells products through agency companies and has reached as far away as Europe and the United States. Now their English website has been established and they are preparing to expand into overseas markets next year. In response to the increase in various robot competitions, his company focuses on providing mobile platforms, sensors, controllers, drives and other products for participating primary and secondary school students. The platform used in the simple robot production course offered by Qiqihar North Korean Middle School is a product customized by his company.

Every industry has competition. Yu Xinlong said: “Now some companies copy our business model and counterfeit our products. For this reason, we not only register trademarks and apply for patents to seek legal protection, but also continuously launch new products. New products to cope with competition. On the way to growth, we hope to get support from all walks of life, hope that relevant departments will give more policy support to college students’ entrepreneurship, and also hope that companies, enterprises and individuals who are interested in our projects will cooperate with us. We are recruiting talents and hope that more fresh forces will join us and realize our entrepreneurial dream!”

More than 20 days ago, Yu Xinlong received his business license, and his “Harbin "Aosong Robot Technology Co., Ltd." has a formal signboard. From his initial hobby to his current career, Yu Xinlong has a lot of emotions. He faced the hardships on the road to entrepreneurship with perseverance, and his entrepreneurial story demonstrates the success and style of college students. ;
