Thailand’s rice standards are the most standardized and detailed among all the rice-producing countries in the world. Strict rice standards play a protective role in the export quality of Thai rice, and are also the passport for Thai rice to sell well around the world.
The Ministry of Trade of Thailand stipulates that only Hom Mali 105 and RD15 rice varieties with a content of no less than 92% can be titled "Thai Hom Mali Rice" (Thai Jasmine Rice).
Rice mixed with more than 8% of other rice or any other variety except these two rice strains cannot be called (Thai jasmine rice).
This is the green mark of origin issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Thailand to Hom Mali (Thailand jasmine rice) that meets the standards. The government is authorized to allow rice exporters to mark the Thai Jasmine Rice logo on the packaging bag: there are golden grains and ears of rice on the green circular base, with "Thai Jasmine Rice" written in Thai, surrounded by THAI HOM MALI RICE / ORIGNATED IN THAILAND. When purchasing, consumers should distinguish whether the green label on the packaging is the original label or one that was affixed later.
