White oil usually refers to white mineral oil. It is a mineral oil that has undergone special deep refining. White oil is colorless and odorless, chemically inert and has good light stability. The basic composition of white oil is saturated hydrocarbon structure, and aromatics, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and other substances are close to zero. Because of this ultra-refining depth, it is difficult to carry out heavy fractions in the actual manufacturing process, so the molecular weight of white oil is usually in the range of 250-450. It has good oxidation stability, chemical stability and light stability, is colorless and tasteless, and does not corrode fiber textiles.
The classification of white oil is usually based on the purity of its saturated hydrocarbon. Commonly used are industrial white oil, cosmetic white oil, medical white oil and food white oil. Different types of white oil have different uses.
Industrial white oil is obtained by deep dewaxing and chemical refining of base oil produced by hydrocracking. It can be used in chemistry, textile, chemical fiber, petrochemical industry, electric power, agriculture and so on. Can be used for producing polyethylene, polystyrene and polyurethane.
Food-grade white oil is based on mineral oil, which is obtained by deep chemical refining and edible alcohol extraction. Suitable for lubrication of processing equipment in food industry, such as grain and oil processing, fruit and vegetable processing, dairy products processing, bread cutting machine, etc. It can be used for polishing, anti-sticking, defoaming, planing and sealing food, and can be used as a release agent for foods such as macaroni, bread, biscuits and chocolate, and can prolong the storage life of wine, vinegar, fruits, vegetables and canned food.
Medical grade white oil is suitable for pharmaceutical industry, and can be used as oral preparation for diarrhea and defoamer for penicillin.
Cosmetic white oil is deeply refined from hydrogenated raw materials. It is suitable for cosmetics industry and can be used as base oil for ointments and softeners such as hair cream, hair oil, lipstick, facial oil, skin care oil, sunscreen oil, baby oil and vanishing cream.
There are seven petrochemical industry standards related to white oil in China, and each standard contains several small standards. (1) white oil standard for cosmetics; (2) Food grade white oil standard; (3) medical white oil standard; (4) White oil standard for industrial use; (5) Low pour point white oil standard; (6) naphthenic white oil standard; (7) Other white oil related standards.
