Russia accepts the registration of commodity trademarks, service trademarks and collective trademarks. Russia uses the International Classification of Goods and Services for trademark registration.

International treaties and organizations to which Russia has acceded include: Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, madrid agreement concerning the international registration of marks, Nice Agreement on the International Classification of Trademarks Registered Goods and Services, Trademark Registration Treaty and World Intellectual Property Organization.
