Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shanghai Petrochemical") is located in Jinshanwei, Jinshan District, Shanghai, covering an area of ??9.4 square kilometers. It is currently China's largest integrated and highly integrated refining and chemical company. It is one of the comprehensive modern petrochemical enterprises and an important base for the development of China's modern petrochemical industry.

Shanghai Petrochemical currently has 72 sets of major production equipment for refining, chemicals, plastics, and chemical fibers, which are characterized by modernization, large-scale, and continuous production. The company mainly produces more than 60 products in four categories: petroleum products, intermediate chemical raw materials, synthetic resins and plastic products, synthetic fiber raw materials and synthetic fibers. The products cover the whole country and are sold abroad. The "Three-person" brand trademark is the main product-specific trademark registered by Shanghai Petrochemical and is a famous trademark in the market; the "Three-person" brand products have been rated as Shanghai's famous brand products and "trustworthy" products.

The predecessor of Shanghai Petrochemical was Shanghai Petrochemical General Plant, which was founded in June 1972. In June 1993, as one of the first batch of joint-stock standardized restructuring pilot enterprises in China, it was restructured into Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and became my country's first international listed company whose stocks were listed simultaneously in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York. In October 2000, it was renamed Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The company's current share capital structure is: total share capital 7.2 billion shares, of which China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation holds 4 billion shares (A shares), accounting for 55.56% of the total share capital; social legal person shares 150 million shares (A shares), accounting for 55.56% of the total share capital 2.08% of the total; 720 million domestic RMB ordinary shares (A shares), accounting for 10% of the total share capital; 2.33 billion overseas listed foreign shares (H shares), accounting for 32.36% of the total share capital.
