Redwood is bullish, is wood carving log crosscutting or radial cutting?
Both methods are possible.

Extension:

Mahogany furniture can appear quietly and luxuriously in front of our eyes, which is inseparable from the hard work of craftsmen. From cutting wood to polishing and waxing, the fine technology and complicated procedures are unimaginable. Today, Bian Xiao will show you four cutting methods of mahogany wood.

There are four cutting methods of mahogany wood, which can be divided into chord cutting, radial cutting, rotary cutting and material cutting.

First, chord cutting

(Flat cutting, flat cutting)-Also known as flat cutting, flat cutting/flat cutting, chord cutting veneer refers to the parallel line cutting of wood chips along the center of the log by the slicing knife. Chord-cut veneer is cut from split logs, and the tree rings on the first floor will form the grain of "cathedral" pattern.

Second, rotary cutting.

(Rotary cutting)-Install the log in the center of the lathe, insert the slicing knife into the log at a slight angle, and then rotate the log against the slicing knife to make a rotary cutting veneer. The rotary veneer can be wide enough to provide a whole board (veneer).

Third, radial cutting.

(Quarter Slice)-Radial cutting means that the annual rings of logs are tangent to each other vertically, resulting in straight wood skin.

Rift-cut)-Veneer is made of all kinds of oak. The pith rays of oak extend from the center of the log, just like the bent spokes of a wheel. The pith ray tangent to oak at a slight angle can minimize the appearance of "scale" wood grain and produce straight bark.

Fourth, material cutting.

(Longitudinal slicing)-Level the flat saw board with a fixed slicing knife, and cut the veneer from the bottom of the board. The grain patterns of longitudinal wood veneers are varied.

When ordering veneer, you can specify color, wood grain pattern and various natural features besides cutting methods. Bian Xiao also suggested choosing ideal veneer specifications and packaging requirements.
