What is the application procedure for German trademarks?
trademark search, trademark acceptance, trademark examination, trademark announcement and trademark registration are completed

trademark search: the applicant searches the trademark name to ensure the registrability of the trademark;

trademark acceptance: the applicant submits the trademark application documents to the German Patent Office, and the relevant staff will check the submitted trademark application documents and check the integrity of the trademark documents. If there is no problem with the trademark documents, the application date and application number will be awarded;

trademark examination: the trademark registrar conducts formal examination and substantive examination of the trademark document, mainly to examine whether the trademark document is registrable, identical or similar to the trademark applied for earlier, and whether it complies with relevant laws and regulations. For trademarks that fail to pass the examination, the examiner will notify the applicant in writing and inform him of the reasons for rejection. The applicant may submit a review within the time limit from the date of receiving the notice of rejection, otherwise, the application will be regarded as abandoned, and the application date and application number will not be retained.

trademark announcement: a trademark that has passed the examination enters the trademark announcement period, which lasts for 3 months. From the announcement period, it is a trademark objection period. During the objection period, anyone can raise an objection to the trademark document.

trademark registration is completed: trademark documents that have been ruled by objection or trademark documents that have no objection within the objection period can be approved for registration. The validity period of a trademark is 1 years, and the trademark can be renewed after its expiration. The validity period of trademark renewal is 1 years, and the application for trademark renewal should be filed within 3 months before the expiration of the trademark.
