Why hasn’t Huawei Cangjie come out yet?

Although they don't pay much attention to Huawei's Hongmeng OS and Euler systems, they are quite enthusiastic about the Cangjie programming language - of course not Hongmeng OS and Euler, but they are smart enough to notice that the Hongmeng system currently uses ArkTS Language, so I’m not so keen for the moment. But I have been paying attention to when Cangjieyu will be released.

However, looking at the end of December 8, 2022, I feel that Cangjie Language is unlikely to be released this year. Although the previous official announcement was that it would be released in the second half of this year, the grand developer conference has been postponed to December, and there is no official sign of Cangjie programming language. From this perspective, the Cangjie programming language will not be publicly released in 2022 this year.

Of course, this certainty is not determined solely by time. In fact, there are some reasons. Previously, when programming languages ??became a hot topic in Cangjie, there were reports that Huawei applied for Cangjie’s trademark. The current state of Cangjie's programming language is now under review, as this astute guest occasionally checks in. In other words, Huawei’s Cangjie trademark has been rejected!

Cangjie has two trademarks. One was applied for by another company a few years ago (first a biotechnology company, then a cultural development company), and the other was applied for by Huawei, both of which belong to Cangjie. This is a conflict. Currently, Huawei's Cangjie application has been rejected, and trademark application and review will take time. Without this trademark, the Cangjie programming language cannot be launched as a commercial product. Therefore, even if the Cangjie language is almost ready in terms of programming technology, it cannot be made public.

More importantly, according to some clues that have been made public so far, Cangjie’s programming language may not be ready yet. At the very least, it's not just a trademark issue, there are some technical or decision-making issues that need to be resolved.

At present, Hongmeng OS is developing rapidly, and its northbound application development is based on the ArkTS language. Even with the ArkUI framework and declarative UI extensions, it is still very young, there is still a lot of work to be done in its development, and there are still many loopholes to be stepped on in its improvement. And in the public live broadcast class of Hongmeng OS that the smart guests paid attention to, I also felt that it is not the right time to launch the new language. What should I do if I can’t let it out? I can only continue to optimize and wait for the right time. Of course, if after this article is published, there are no waves, no traffic, and no one reads it, that’s no problem. But if this article stirs up some waves, gets popular, and gets traffic after being published, then words like badmouthing Cangjie or Huawei will inevitably appear in the visual comments. Just-just like that, just like that.
