Xinzhi Bookstore was founded in 1935 by Qian Junrui, Xu Xuehan, Hua Yingshen and others. It was formerly the monthly magazine "China Rural Areas". After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, Chongqing's three stores of life, reading, and new knowledge were merged. In October 1948, in order to welcome the birth of New China, Reading Publishing House, Life Bookstore, and New Knowledge Bookstore merged in Hong Kong to form Life·Reading·New Knowledge Sanlian Bookstore.
