The Origin of Credit Card and Who Invented It?
Understanding the origin and development of credit cards

Credit cards originated in the United States in the early 2th century. They are made of metal, and their distribution objects and places of use are quite limited. After Diner's Card came out in 1951, it laid the rudiment of modern credit card. At that time, the cardholder only needed to show the card when spending, and Diners Card Company paid for the account, and then collected the money from the cardholder. Because of its convenience, the credit card business has gradually expanded to hotels and airlines, and the card issuers have also expanded from Diners Card Company and American Express Company to banks.

in 1965, the Bank of America, which developed its credit card business, began to expand its credit card business, and licensed its trademark to other banks in the following year. What was released at that time was a Bank Americard with blue, white and gold patterns. After that, Bank of America further expanded its credit card business outside the United States. However, due to the strong American color of Bank American, it was not welcomed by foreigners. In 1977, Bank American officially changed its name to VISA, which was also the first official credit card.

it's only been nearly ten years since credit cards really became popular in Taiwan Province. International credit card organizations such as VISA (Visa), MasterCard (MasterCard), JCB (MasterCard), Diners Card (Diners Card) and American Express (American Express Card) are all trying to capture this vast market.
