With the approval of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Tongda Trademark Service Center was established to solve the problem of trademark review backlog. Tongda Trademark Service Center was established at the end of 1993 and currently has 256 staff members. On March 26, 2019, the "Notice of the State Intellectual Property Office on Issuing the Functional Configuration, Internal Structure and Staffing Regulations of the Trademark Office" (Guozhifa Renzi [2019] No. 19 ) stipulates that the main responsibilities of the Trademark Office are: to undertake specific work such as trademark review, registration, and administrative adjudication; to participate in the research and formulation of the Trademark Law and its implementing regulations, rules, and normative documents.
